The Falcons focused on taking away what the Pioneers had done well in the previous week's win, but when Trinity made an adjustment, its offense erupted. Ollie Service and Davey Durepo connected for three touchdown passes in the final 4:19 of the first half, including two in the final minute, and No. 2 Trinity rolled past No. 6 Bow for a 28-0 win at Derryfield Park. The Pioneers move on to face No. 2 Pelham in the semifinals at 6:30 p.m. Friday at Pelham. "They were trying to take away what we wanted to do, getting the ball to Anthony Digiantommaso," Trinity coach Rob Cathcart said. "They were determined we’re not going to do that and they did a good job of taking that away from us. Then finally we just figured out, we’ve got Davey Durepo on the other side, and they swung so much to Anthony’s side, (Durepo) opened up. It took a little while to figure that out. Once we did, we were OK." All three of Durepo's catches went for touchdowns, as he finished 82 receiving yards. Service was 5 of 16 passing for 122 yards with the three scores, while the quarterback also ran for 109 yards, including a 51-yard touchdown run for the only score of the second half. "We really just had to dig down deep," Service said. "We had to execute our plays on offense and keep stopping them on defense. (Durepo) was flying around the field." Trinity (9-1) had been able to move the ball some throughout the first half, but had a touchdown called back on a hold its second drive, as it turned the ball over on downs twice in Bow's territory. But on the Pioneers' third possession, they were able to mix up the running game, getting carries from four players to march down the field. Then, on second-and-8 from the Falcons' 23-yard line, Service found Durepo for a short gain and the junior ran the rest of the way to the end zone. After a three-and-out by Bow, Service and Durepo connected on a 39-yard touchdown that made it 14-0 with 44 seconds left in the half. "I think we caught them off guard for sure," Service said. "They had Davey in one-on-one coverage, playing about five yards off. It was the perfect situation." On Bow's second play from scrimmage, Jack Wheeler was hit by Hunter Henderson as he was about to throw and the ball popped up into the arms of Dom Canny to give Trinity the ball. The Pioneers wasted no time going back to the air, as Service hit Durepo for a 40-yard touchdown and a 20-0 lead with 17 seconds to go until halftime. "He had great passes, just led me every time," Durepo said. "Just perfect balls, they were where they had to be. It just worked out great." Bow threatened to get on the board midway through the third quarter. An 11-yard run by Caleb Schumacher on fourth-and-5 gave the Falcons a first down at the Pioneers' 3-yard line. But two plays later, Brady Lover fumbled at the 1 and Dom Detone scooped the ball up, returning the fumble across midfield. "To take a team like Bow, and shut them out in a playoff game, is a good job," Cathcart said. "That’s a hard thing to do. Bow runs the football well, they do real well with their off tackle scheme and we were able to stop it." Service finish out the scoring with his long touchdown run with 10:58 remaining. Detone added 73 yards rushing for Trinity and Digiantommaso finished with 38 yards on the ground and a 17-yard reception. Lover led Bow (5-5) with 77 rushing yards but was just 2 of 9 passing for 1 yard and two interceptions. Schumacher added 68 yards on the ground.
