Going into the final night of the regular season, five of the top eight seeds had already been determined, and the others would have been settled just by a few teams taking care of business. The real excitement of the final night came from the bottom of the standings, where games between Concord and Manchester West along with Alvirne and Nashua North would determine the final three postseason spots. Here’s a look at the potential field of 16 teams and where they might end up, based on our interpretation of the NHIAA’s tiebreakers. Official brackets are expected to be released on Monday. ### Top three locks With two of the top three teams finishing their season on Tuesday, these spots were already determined going into Friday night. **Manchester Central (18-0)** will be the No. 1 seed, while **Trinity (17-1)** comes in at No. 2 and **Merrimack (16-2)** is the No. 3 seed in the postseason. ![Trinity and Merrimack are the No. 2 and 3 seeds respectively.](https://storage.ghost.io/c/bc/58/bc5866d0-9fd9-4113-b959-670d6f16471d/content/images/www-nh-highschoolsports-com/wp-content/uploads/2014/03/jmmerbball021514-m3-1.jpg) Trinity and Merrimack are the No. 2 and 3 seeds respectively. The biggest question mark in the top eight was who between **Londonderry (14-4)** and **Bishop Guertin (13-5)** would be fourth and who would be fifth. The Lancers took care of business with an 87-80 double overtime win over Nashua South, while Bishop Guertin lost to Spaulding. So the Lancers are the four and the Cardinals the five. **Winnacunnet (12-6)** went into the night locked into the No. 6 spot, but the Warriors still defeated Manchester Memorial to end the regular season having won six of eight games. One of the hottest teams in the division, **Bedford (11-7)**, defeated Keene to win its 10th in a row and wrapup up the No. 7 seed, while **Exeter (10-8)**, which was idle, will be the eighth seed. ### The next level Three teams finished the regular season tied for the ninth spot - **Nashua South (9-9), Pinkerton (9-9)** and **Spaulding (9-9)**. The Panthers end up with the No. 9 seed and a date at Exeter thanks to beat Spaulding and Pinkerton in the first two games of the season back in mid-December. The Astros will be the No. 10 seed thanks to a 49-32 win during the regular season over the Red Raiders, who will the No. 11 seed. **Manchester Memorial (8-10)** is the great mystery entering the tournament, so its fitting the Crusaders are the No. 12 seed. Memorial will get an intriguing first-round matchup with Bishop Guertin, who won the regular-season meeting by just two points. **Salem (7-11)** was predicted by some to be a top eight team, but got off to a 3-6 start. The Blue Devils weren't much better down the stretch, but won enough to get finish with the No. 13 seed. ### Four teams, three spots For **Concord (6-12)**, it was simple - beat **Manchester West (6-12)** and wrapup a playoff spot. Instead, the Tide lost, which meant West would be in, and the loser of Alvirne-Nashua North would be home for the postseason. **Alvirne (6-12)** was a 58-51 winner over the Titans. So a three-way tie for the final three playoffs spots meant a head-to-head tiebreaker first, but each to team beat the other. Of the three, West actually had the best rating against playoff teams - the second tiebreaker - as the Blue Knights were 3-11 against postseason participants. So West is the 14th seed. With Concord holding the head-to-head tiebreaker with Alvirne, the Tide are the 15th seed and the Broncos the 16th. ### How the teams should be seeded 1. Manchester Central (18-0) 2.
