Emma Newton signed a National Letter of Intent to continue running cross country and track next year at Tulane University in New Orleans.

Hollis Brookline's Emma Newton will run cross country and track at Tulane.

Newton, a senior at Hollis Brookline High School, became the first girls cross country runner in school history to win an individual championship when she finished first at the Division II meet last October. She was aslo the D2 indoor champion in the 3,000 meters and took second in the 1,500 on Feb. 2.
