Holland leads Nashua South to win over Nashua North in Turkey Bowl (video)

NASHUA - When Sean Holland gets his diploma from Nashua High School South in the spring, he might have a few options on where to have his graduation party.

Nashua North coach Dante Laurendi wouldn't mind hosting it at his house, so long as it means the Titans never have to face the Panthers senior quarterback again.

Holland turned in one of his best performances Wednesday night, throwing for 274 yards and four touchdowns to go with 103 yards and a touchdown on the ground, as South rolled to a 55-21 win over North in the Turkey Bowl at Stellos Stadium.

In four games over the last two seasons against the Titans, Holland completed 52 of 101 passes for 903 yards with 10 touchdowns and four interceptions, and also ran for 377 yards and three more scores. South won three of those four games.

"His graduation party is going to be at my house," Laurendi said with a laugh. "He’s explosive and he capped it off with a great performance. He made some great runs, some great throws, and they played much better than we did."

South (8-3) had almost four hundred yards of offense in the first half as the Panthers scored on all six possessions to take a 41-14 lead into the break. The final two touchdowns came in the last 3:21 of the half, after North had made it a two-score game.

But Holland found Tony Agor and Alex Amigo, respectively, for 54-yard touchdown receptions to give the Panthers a comfortable lead going into the break.

"I think closing out the half to big games, we can do that really well," Holland said. "That’s what we tried to do. It’s almost like a two-minute drill and we tried to capitalize on those situations. We had that opportunity and we made the most of it."

Amigo finished with four catches for 114 yards and two touchdowns, while Agor had three catches for 77 yards and a score. Derek Downing also caught a touchdown pass from Holland while Jarret Bieren, Jaylan Pacheco and Saul Pascual had rushing touchdowns.

"We took what they were giving us," South coach Scott Knight said. "They were playing hard and they came to play. There’s always something to be found. You have a quarterback like the guy we’ve got, we can hit those shots. He came to play."

Curtis Harris led North (5-5) with 81 yards rushing, including a 31-yard touchdown run, while Mike Loveless added 53 yards on the ground and was 8 of 14 passing for 67 yards with a touchdown and an interception. The scoring pass was a 13-yard strike to Matt Wall, who had two catches for 23 yards.

Kevin Maldonado had the other score for the Titans on a 1-yard plunge in the third quarter and finished with 28 yards on three carries.
