It's preseason for everyone.

These three weeks leading up to the start of the regular season on April 10 aren't just for players and coaches and officials to get back into the swing of a high school lacrosse game.

They're for sports media people, like myself, who have to remember where the best spots on the field are to take photos and how to adjust to natural light after being trapped inside a gym for almost four months. It's also for remembering what it's like to cover games in different weather, which I had the pleasure of doing this past weekend.

Got to be ready for anything, which is why I braved the cold last Thursday for a scrimmage at Souhegan, and got soaked in Durham on Saturday at the Oyster River Jamboree, and almost blew away at Hollis Brookline on Sunday.

But hey, look, we've now only got a week to go until the games count for real. Coaches will tell you there is still so much for them to do between now and then, and it's the same over in this corner of the high school sports world.

Previews for all six divisions will be rolling out over the course of the next week, depending on when the final few emails trickle in in the next few days. The majority of coaches have already done so, but there are a few left to hit my inbox (BTW, its nhhighschoolsports@gmail.com, if you haven't sent your preview info in yet).

There will also be a couple of player profiles going up during the next couple of weeks as well. On Sunday, I'll be revealing both the boys and girls lacrosse preseason all-state watch lists, and on Monday, both preseason coaches polls will be out (sponsorships for both still available).

Finally, this week will also have a big announcement coming on Tuesday, so check in here or on the social media accounts for that one.

And as always, if you like what I'm doing and want to support it, please consider signing up for a membership by going here.
