# Girls volleyball rankings for Sept. 21

The team at the top remained the same, but that doesn't mean there weren't a lot of other changes to the state's top 15 girls volleyball teams this week.

Concord remained at No. 1 by improving its record in Division I to 6-0, but a new team jumped up to No. 2, as Spaulding picked big wins last week over Bedford and Hollis Brookline. St. Thomas, despite having the most wins in the state at 7-0, dropped a spot to No. 3.

Dover climbed five spots to No. 4 thanks to a three-win week, while Winnisquam was the top Division III team in the rankings, rounding out the top five.

Some big matches this week include Spaulding at Dover on Wednesday, Windham at St. Thomas on Friday and Hollis Brookline at Bishop Guertin on Monday.

### How the rankings are done

We took the NHIAA’s football rating system, and gave it a little tweak. Instead of 10 points for a win, we weighted the wins by division, giving 12 for a win over a D1 team, 10 for a win over D2 and eight for a win over D3\. Plus, every team got two points for a win by a beaten opponent. The two point totals were added together and divided by the number of games played.
