Girls lacrosse pairings released

The pairings are out for the high school girls lacrosse playoffs, which will start Wednesday.

A matchup of two local teams will take place in Division I, with Souhegan and Hollis/Brookline playing for a third time this season. In Division II, Merrimack and Bedford join defending-champion Bishop Guertin in the field.

Division I

Souhegan (12-3) enters the playoffs as the No. 3 seed in the division and will host No. 6 H/B (7-6), which is in its first year in Division I, at 5 p.m. on Wednesday in Amherst. The teams played twice during the regular season, with the Sabers winning 10-8 in the first game and 9-8 on May 26.

The winner will face the winner of No. 2 Concord (12-3) and No. 7 Manchester Central (6-10) in the semifinals. Concord beat Central twice this season, and will try for a third win at 5 p.m. on Wednesday in Concord.

Londonderry (13-0) is the No. 1 seed and will host No. 8 Manchester Memorial (5-8) at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, with the winner taking on either No. 4 Exeter (9-5) or No. 5 Pinkerton (8-5) in the semifinals.

The semifinals are scheduled for June 4 at Southern New Hampshire University, and the final is to be played on June 6, also at SNHU.

Division II

No. 2 Merrimack (13-2) will open the playoffs against No. 7 Winnacunnet (8-6) at 5 p.m. on Wednesday in Merrimack. The Tomahawks won the only regular-season meeting between the two 19-10 on May 11. The winner will face either No. 3 Bow (11-3) or No. 6 Bedford (9-5) in the semifinals. Bow defeated Bedford during the regular season, 12-8 on May 2, and the Falcons will host this game at 5 p.m. on Wednesday.

Bishop Guertin (11-3) is the No. 4 seed and will take on No. 5 Hanover (11-3) at 4 p.m. on Wednesday in Nashua. The teams played a regular-season game on May 25 at Hanover, with the Cardinals winning 14-7.

The winner of that game will face the winner of No. 1 Portsmouth (15-0) and No. 8 Lebanon (8-6) in the semifinals.

The semifinals are scheduled for June 4 at SNHU, with the final set for June 6 at SNHU.

Division III

Plymouth (12-2) enters the playoffs as the top seed and will host No. 8 Windham (7-7) at 5 p.m. on Wednesday. The winner will face either No. 4 Hopkinton (10-3) or No. Con-Val (10-4) in the semifinals.

On the other side of the bracket, No. 2  Kearsarge (11-2) will face No. 7 Derryfield (9-5) and No. 3 Kingswood (11-3) will host No. 6 Oyster River (9-4), with the winners meeting in the semifinals.

The semifinals are scheduled for June 5 at SNHU and the final is scheduled for June 8, also at SNHU.
