Here are the finalists for the fifth King of New Hampshire High School Basketball. All are worthy candidates for the crown, but only one will win. That winner will be announced back here on Monday morning.
Voting was done by members of the New Hampshire high school sports media. All voters selected six players, placing them in order with No. 1 being the choice for player of the year. All players who received votes will be listed with Monday's winner.
The six finalists are, in alphabetical order.
Keith Brown, senior, Pelham
The Division III Player of the Year and the Gatorade Player of the Year for New Hampshire, Brown led the Pythons to their second straight D3 title this season.
DJ Frechette, junior, Nashua South
A Division I all-state first team member, Frechette helped lead the Panthers to a home playoff game in each of the last two seasons.
Joey Glynn, junior, Portsmouth
Named to the Division II first-team, Glynn helped Portsmouth reach its third straight championship game and win its first title since 2012.
Jaylen Leroy, senior, Manchester Central
Leroy was named the Division I Player of the Year, as he helped lead the Little Green to the D1 championship. Scored 17 points in the semifinal win over Winnacunnet and a game-high 25 in the title game against Merrimack.
KJ Matte, junior, Lebanon
The Division II Player of the Year, Matte helped lead the Raiders to the semifinals for the third year in a row and to the championship game for the first time since 1998.
Matt Tenney, senior, Sunapee
Tenney received Division IV first-team honors this season and reach the 1,000-point mark for his career.
