The Souhegan High School baseball team picked up its 11th win of the season by beating Pelham 8-2 on Thursday in Class I action.
Robby McCormick pitched 4 2/3 innings of relief to pick up the win, striking out eight and allowing no runs. Nick Hession started the game for the Sabers (11-1), but had to leave in the third inning.
Souhegan scored three runs in the first inning and three more in the second to take a 6-0 lead. In the first, Tyler Manoogian walked and stole second before scoring on a single by Chris Almeida. DJ Petropulos followed with a RBI single and the Sabers added another run on an error by Pelham.
In the second inning, Chris Chininis walked, stole second and went to third on a ground out before a sacrifice fly by Manoogian brought him home. Also in the inning, Almeida singled and scored on a triple by Petropulos, while Matt Schagrin drove in Petropulos with a double.
The Sabers added two more runs in the top of the seventh. Alex Lyon single, stole second and went to third one passed ball before Zack Polio walked. A double steal and a Pelham error allowed both runs to score.
Almeida finished the game with three singles and Petropulos and Schagrin had two hits and a RBI each.
