Doubles win pushes Souhegan girls past Laconia

Emily Hagen and Sara Noble rallied for a win at No. 2 doubles to lift the Souhegan High School girls tennis team to a 5-4 victory over Laconia on Friday at Jasper Valley.

Hagen and Noble defeated Laconia's Sarah Richards and Sarah Bogert 8-5 for Souhegan's lone doubles win. The Sabers (2-3) took four of six singles matches to get their second win of the year.

Emily Parrett won the No. 1 singles match, beating Teagon Connelly 8-3, and Maeye Morgan knocked off Taylor Williams 8-5 in the No. 2 match. Hagen won her singles match, 8-4 over Hannah Mansfield, and Lindsay Moss got an 8-5 win over Bogert in the No. 5 match.

Richards defeated Noble 9-7 at No. 4 and Talia LaBlanc knocked off Erin Heaney 8-2 at No. 6 for Laconia's two wins.

Connelly and Williams took the No. 1 doubles match 8-4 over Parrett and Morgan, while Mansfield and LaBlanc won at No. 3, 8-2 over Moss and Alexis Ierardi.
