The No. 3 doubles team of Caroline Hagen and Maura Belanger helped break a tie to help the Souhegan High School girls tennis team to a 5-4 win over Oyster River in Class I on Wednesday.

Hagen lost the No. 5 singles match, 9-7, to Marcella Hopkins, and Belanger lost the No. 6 match, 8-2, to Macky Leander. But the duo defeated Hopkins and Leander, 8-3, in the No. 3 doubles match to clinch the match for the Sabers (8-5).

Emily Readdy won the No. 1 singles match for Souhegan, 8-0, over Izzy Gorham, while Alex Silva defeated Kalles Jackson, 8-1, in the No. 2 match. Emily Parrett won the No. 3 match over Sara Usher, 8-3, but Mia Ommundsen lost the No. 4 match to Alex Sasnowski, 8-3.

Readdy and Silva won at No. 1 doubles, beating Gorham and Jackson 8-2\. Parrett and Ommundsen fell at No. 2 doubles to Usher and Sasnowski, 9-7.
