# Cote hired as new Bishop Guertin football coach

Bishop Guertin High School [announced](http://www.nashuatelegraph.com/sportshighschoolsports/923087-221/bishop-guertin-hires-new-football-coach.html?ref=nh-highschoolsports.com) Thursday that Travis Cote [has been hired](http://nhgameday.blogspot.com/2011/06/cote-is-new-hc-at-bg.html?ref=nh-highschoolsports.com) as the school's new football coach.

Cote, who was the head coach at Manchester West for the last seven seasons, replaces Tony Johnson, the athletic director at Bishop Guertin who stepped down earlier this spring after 17 seasons as the Cardinals head coach.

A 1991 graduate of Milford, Cote complied a 29-46 record at West, leading the Blue Knights to the Division I postseason in 2005 and 2007, the school's first playoff appearances in over a decade. With the opening of Bedford High School, West was just 4-26 in its last three seasons, including last year after it moved down to Division II.

Cote takes over a program that has won three straight titles in Division II and six in the last seven years.
