# ConVal football rallies for win over Pelham

The ConVal High School football team overcame a fourth-quarter deficit Friday night to beat Pelham 37-28.

Sophomore quarterback Dan Spezzaferri, making his first varsity start, was 17 of 30 for 230 yards and four touchdowns, and also added 50 yards rushing and ran for two more scores. Jimmy Stewart, Isaac Bacon, Liam Baldwin and Brandon Carland each caught a touchdown pass from Spezzaferri.

Brandon Sloan led the Cougars' defense with eight tackles and two sacks while Josh Curran had 13 tackles and a sack to go with a fumble recovery. Dillon Obuchowski also had two sacks.

The win was just the second for ConVal since the start of the 2013 season, and its the first time since 2012 that the Cougars opened the season with a win.
