ConVal football hangs on to beat Hollis Brookline

Dan Spezzaferri threw for four touchdowns Friday night to lead the ConVal High School football team to a 25-14 win over Hollis Brookline.

Sepzzaferri, a sophomore, completed 29 of 42 passes for 381 yards and the four scores, two of which went to Brandon Carland, who had seven catches for 156 yards.

Isaac Bacon also caught five passes for 108 yards and two touchdowns while Liam Baldwin (eight for 88) and Jimmy Stewart (5 for 60) also got in on the act. Linemen Chase LaBelle and Josh Curran also played well for the Cougars (2-4).

Dan Curran and Jake Phillips led the defense, as each recorded 17 tackles, and Carland added nine tackles and had two interceptions. Josh Bartsch also had his first career interception.

ConVal hosts Souhegan on Oct. 23 at 7 p.m. in its final home game of the year.
