ConVal football blanks Manchester West to get first win of season

The ConVal High School football team picked up its first win of the season Friday, beating Manchester West 46-0 in Division II action.

ConVal (1-1) had a balanced offensive attack, with six different players scoring touchdowns. Dan Spezzaferri, Danny Parker, Scott Stanley and Zach Obuchowski all had rushing touchdowns for the Cougars, while Liam Baldwin and Jimmy Stewart each had a TD reception.

Defensively, the Cougars were led by nose tackle Dan Curran, who posted a team-high nine tackles along with three tackles for a loss and a sack. Jake Phillips and Jacob Munroe also had great games at linebacker for the Cougar defense to help them shut down the Blue Knight offense.
