# Concord beats Alvirne in pitchers' duel

Kelsey Martel [gave up one hit](http://www.concordmonitor.com/article/252804/concord-1-alvirne-0?ref=nh-highschoolsports.com) and the Concord High School softball team defeated Alvirne 1-0 on Thursday in a Division I game.

Martel [allowed a leadoff single](http://www.nashuatelegraph.com/sportshighschoolsports/916757-221/high-school-highlights.html?ref=nh-highschoolsports.com) to Mikayla Powlowsky and nothing else, as the Broncos managed to hit just one ball out of the infield the rest of the way.

The Tide scratched across a run in the fifth on a double and an error, as Concord had three hits off Alvirne's Taylor Carbone.

Carbone finished with 12 strikeouts while Martel had 11 for Concord.
