Here are some of the teams to watch out for in each division. ### Division I Last time out for the Bedford High School boys hockey, the Bulldogs were raising another championship plaque. They’ll face stiff competition in their division against the likes of Concord once again. On Wednesday night, the rematch is on, with far less at stake. But, it will be a chance for the Crimson Tide to get some early revenge. Senior goalie Eric Voloshin is back for the Bulldogs. The losses of Griffin Gagne and Chase Vaillancourt will also be difficult to replace. Concord lost some scoring, but is still expected to contend, despite a 7-0 defeat in the D1 championship game at the hands of Bedford last season. Alex Marceau is one of those players gone. One way or another, those two teams are the ones to watch in Division I, despite the lopsided final in the championship last year. Trinity looks like an early season contender. Ethan Messener in net gives the Pioneers a chance, along with Nate Arcand on the offensive end. The young team missed the postseason last year but brings in a potentially dangerous roster. Manchester Memorial and Pinkerton are also top teams to keep an eye out for. ### Division II Defending-champion Bow is back as a contender again, and last year's runner-up, Keene, of course, also remains a force to be reckoned with. New Blackbirds coach Chris McIntosh is at the helm after serving as an assistant coach. Myles Ditkoff is back between the pipes and an impact player, with Tim Greenwood leading the way on offense. Ditkoff is one of the best in the state, and leaves the Blackbirds confident about their chances. Even after a title appearance last season, however, the concern is a lack of experience with nine players lost to graduation. Gone are the likes of Nate Darwin and Luke Plumely, and that will make life a lot harder. For the Falcons, Ryan Tobelor and Dominique Biron will lead the top line. Biron is one of the Falcons captains and leading scorers. Bow has made two straight championship game appearances and played in three of the last four title games. Portsmouth-Newmarket has some good players, starting with Fred Holmes on defense, while Windham is expected to compete, despite losing some top talent such as Max Daly. ### Division III The Eagles of Kennett are back in action with plenty of returners, but Berlin-Gorham is also going to be difficult to beat again. The two favorites for D3 are going to go head-to-head all season long. After winning the a title and division player of the year honor, Mackenzie Murphy is back for his senior campaign with the Eagles. With John Biggio in the crease, the Eagles look like one of the most balanced teams. Only four players have left overall, meaning the Eagles have nearly the same looking roster. Cam Cochran is the scorer to watch for the Mountaineers, while Noah Schoenbeck will patrol the backend. The loss of Owen Dorval is going to be their toughest to make up for. John Stark-Hopkinton is a team to watch, backstopped by Jameson Bourque, while Belmont-Gilford also has some of the best returning players in the division who contributed last season. ### Girls After losing five players, the Blue Hawks of Exeter have the formula for returning to the state title game. Izzy Day is just a junior and already one of the best goalies in the state. Carissa Towlson looks to lead the way as a scorer while Ashley Keaveny will be important in front of Day. Hanover's top line of Briland Laycock, Cate Wagner, and Hannah Curtis is going to be tough to top, but losing eight players leaves barely a dent, with other young players looking to replace the depth. The Marauders have won eight straight titles and nine of the 10 in New Hampshire history. What is gone for the Marauders is the safety of defender JJ Taube, and she’ll be tough to replace, along with Sarah McCormick. Concord is the other team to watch for, led by last season’s all-star winger Emily Forward. Berlin-Gorham is also in the mix, but the loss of Rylie Bennett will be tough. ### Boys Hockey Rankings 1.
