Cardinals win first basketball title since 1983
DURHAM - Connor Green and Sean McClung each scored 22 points as the Bishop Guertin High School boys basketball team defeated Trinity 54-46 to win its first championship in 28 years.

DURHAM - Connor Green and Sean McClung each scored 22 points as the Bishop Guertin High School boys basketball team defeated Trinity 54-46 to win its first championship in 28 years.
Green added 11 boards and five steals while McClung was 9-for-12 from the free throw line to lead the Cardinals (20-2) to the Division I title. Joe McCarthy added six points off the bench for top-seeded Bishop Guertin.
Wal Majong led No. 2 Trinity (18-4) with 21 points, including a buzzer-beating 3-pointer at the end of the third quarter that gave the Pioneers their last lead. Mabor Gabriel added 15 points for Trinity.
