# Cardinals get OT win over Lancers

Molly McGaffigan scored on a penalty kick in overtime to give the Bishop Guertin High School girls soccer team a 3-2 victory over Londonderry in Division I action Tuesday.

Kelsey Baines and Allison Borland also had goals for the Cardinals (4-4-1), while Suzy Struckman and McGaffigan each had an assist. Allison Hoffer made her first start in goal and made nine saves for Bishop Guertin, while Alanna Fitzgerald and Kathryn Swallow also played well.

The Cardinals started the scoring when Baines headed a ball from Struckman into the net. But Londonderry scored just moments later and the game was tied at 1 at halftime. Borland put BG up 2-1 in the second half, but the Lancers scored again, this time on a penalty kick, to force overtime.

In overtime, McGaffigan was fouled inside the box and ended the game on the ensuing penalty kick, giving BG its second overtime win of the season.

BG will play at Nashua North on Friday.
