Campbell football dominates in all phases in win over Bishop Brady

LITCHFIELD - Greg Gush’s Campbell High School football dominated on offense, on defense, and on special teams in the Cougars' decisive 81-9 victory over Bishop Brady on Saturday night.

In Gush’s coaching tenure at Campbell (5-0), 81 is the most points his team has scored, but that is not what is important to him. After the game Gush was happy with the way his team executed, especially for his seniors, who got to enjoy their final night game under the lights.

"My seniors will never get to experience an atmosphere like this at home ever again," Gush said. "I am happy we got a team with for them."

One senior that stood out was running back Ryan Yanuszweski, who finished the game with 12 carries for 213 yards, and four touchdowns, all in the first half.

“I give full credit to my offensive line they provided the biggest holes that I have ever seen,” Yanuszewski said. He also believes that this is the first four touchdown he has ever had in his entire life.

Yanuszweski opened the scoring in the first half with a 30-yard touchdown. Following this touchdown, Bishop Brady had a 50-yard drive with it ending with a fumble on the 1-yard line.

From this point on, Bishop Brady (3-2) did not touch the ball on offense for the next 22 points because Campbell scored and successfully completed onside kicks after its next two touchdowns.

Also scoring touchdowns for Campbell were sophomore Keegan Mills, with two touchdowns and 186 yards rushing, and Osten Anderosn, Adam Breton, Nick Boucher and Garrett Walker each with a touchdown.

On the defensive side of the football, Conor Sweeney had a pick-6 in the fourth quarter and Campbell was successful in all of the kicking related conversations.

In all three phases of the game, the Cougars were able to enforce their will and confuse Bishop Brady.

Even in the lopsided loss, it wasn’t all bad for the depleted Bishop Brady squad, as Giants' senior wide receiver Bryce Johnson finished the game with 201 yards and a touchdown on nine receptions.

Both teams have a bye next week, as Campbell will play at Somersworth (5-0) on Oct. 13 and Bishop Brady will take on Franklin on Oct. 14.
