When that happens, the Cougars have games like they did Saturday against Inter-Lakes/Moultonborough. Campbell controlled the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball, rushing for over four hundred yards while holding the Lakers to 42 yards of offense, bruising the way to a 42-0 win in Division III action. It's the second straight shutout to open the season for the Cougars (2-0) and the second straight game their defense has held an opponent to under 50 yards. And a week after having three hundred yard rushers, Campbell had two players rush for over 170 yards and two touchdowns. Keegan Mills had 179 yards and two scores on the ground, and also threw a 22-yard touchdown pass to Nick Boucher, while Ryan Yanuszweski added 173 yards and two more touchdowns. "It all starts up front," Gush said. "They’re killing themselves. The backs get all the glory, and those guys are in the trenches and the love what they do. They’re very proud of the way they play football. "I liked that our guys played four quarters of football. I liked the focus. We came out here and played four good quarters and didn’t let up and the score took care of itself." Devin Ventura also had a rushing touchdown for Campbell, which led 20-0 at halftime and went up 36-0 with 5:18 left in the third quarter. "We knew if everyone did their job, we would come out on top and I think everyone played to the best of their ability," Yanuszewski said. "It was just an awesome game overall." ILM (1-1) ran just 33 plays for an average of 1.3 yards per play, and picked up just four first downs - one on the Lakers' opening drive, two on their final drive of the first half, and one on the final drive of the game. Deante Miller led ILM with 46 yards on the ground and Blake Dunlap added 23 rushing yards before leaving with a lower leg injury in the second half. Campbell keyed on Andrew Brothers, calling out where the ILM senior was on each play, and held him to 4 yards on 11 carries. "I like the way our defense is playing," Gush said. "They swarm to the ball and they’re confident, so they’re playing fast. We were well aware of (Brothers) and they’ve got a good tight end. They’ve got a good team. There were a couple of things we had to keep an eye and we did a good job." After ILM picked up a first down on its opening drive, the Campbell defense forced a punt, and the offense took over at the Cougars' 25 yard line. Campbell went on a 12-play, 75-yard drive, converting a fourth-and-3 at the Lakers' 10 to set up Mills 4-yard touchdown run. On the ensuing drive, ILM's Noah Robinson was picked off by Campbell's Dylan Putzlocker, who returned it to the Lakers' 31\. Five plays later, Ventura scored on a 5-yard run to put the Cougars up 14-0 with 39 seconds left in the first. Campbell pushed the lead to three scores right before the half on the touchdown pass from Mills to Boucher, and Yanuszewski broke free for a 67-yard touchdown on the Cougars' first drive of the second half to make it 28-0. While Campbell scored on all three of its drives in the second, the defense held ILM in check, forcing a pair of three-and-outs before the Lakers put a drive together in the final moments. The Cougars go on the road again Saturday to take on Farmington-Nute (0-2) while ILM travels to face Newport (2-0).
