BEDFORD - The Bedford High School girls lacrosse team rallied from a two-goal deficit at halftime to defeat Manchester Central 9-8 in a non-division game on Thursday.
Demi Bennett led the Bulldogs (1-2) with four goals, including the game-winner with 1:24 left in the game. Kelsey Poremba added two goals and Alexandria Fink had a goal and an assist. Both Morghan Linehan and Stephanie Kuhn also scored for Bedford while Caitlin Heaps added an assist and Kourtney Brisson played well in goal.
The Little Green (0-2) got five goals from Kaleigh Gibbons while Pam Mudge had three scores.
In the first half, Bedford tied the game at 3 with 9:57 left before the break. But after a timeout by the Bulldogs, Gibbons sliced right through the defense to put Central back on top just 27 seconds later.
The Little Green added another goal with 4:16 left to go up 5-3. Kuhn scored for the Bulldogs to close the gap to one, but Central scored again with four-tenths of a second left in the half to take a 6-4 lead into the break.

The teams went back and forth for the rest of the half, with Bedford going up 8-7 on a goal by Poremba. But the Little Green tied it with 4:17 to play on Mudge's third goal of the game.
Bedford returns to action on April 19 when it hosts Bow, the defending Division II champ, at 6 p.m.
