With this year being the second of the NHIAA’s two-year cycle, there weren’t any changes to Divisions I in terms of which teams are in each division and what the playoff format will look like. D1 will still have 20 teams, with the North and South conferences playing in one cluster, and the East and West conferences playing in the other for the first time since 2016\. The top team in each conference will make the playoffs, along with the next two best teams in the cluster, based on rating. Here’s a week-by-week look at the regular-season schedules for D1 for 2019\. Schedules are subject to change. ## Week 1 ### North/South cluster - Concord at Londonderry, Sept. 6, 7 p.m. - **Windham at Bedford, Sept. 6, 7 p.m.:** The defending-champion Bulldogs take on the Jaguars for the first time, as both teams will be led by new coaches - Zach Matthews at Bedford and Jack Byrne at Windham. - Timberlane at Manchester Memorial, Sept. 6, 7 p.m. - **Salem at Manchester Central, Sept. 6, 7:15 p.m.:** The Blue Devils and the Little Green gave split their last six meetings, with the winner scoring an average of 40.7 points. Salem won the last meeting, 28-13, in 2016. - **Pinkerton at Goffstown, Sept. 7, 1:30 p.m.:** This will be just the third meeting between the programs, with the Astros winning in 2013 and the Grizzlies returning the favor in 2016\. It will be the first time Pinkerton travels to Goffstown. ### East/West cluster - **Portsmouth at Nashua South, Sept. 6, 6:30 p.m.:** The Clippers and Panthers combined to win six D1 titles from 1976-84, including a 17-14 overtime win by the Panthers in the 1984 title game. South won the last meeting in 2016 by a score of 68-36. - **Nashua North at Winnacunnet, Sept. 6, 7 p.m.:** This is a matchup of two teams that made the playoffs a year ago, but might struggle to do so again after some key losses to graduation. The Titans put up almost 500 yards of offense in a 55-35 win then these teams met in 2016. - Bishop Guertin at Exeter, Sept. 6, 7 p.m. - Merrimack at Spaulding, Sept. 6, 7 p.m. - Keene at Dover, Sept. 6, 7 p.m. ## Week 2 ### North/South cluster - Manchester Central at Timberlane, Sept. 13, 6:30 p.m. - **Bedford at Concord, Sept. 13, 7 p.m.:** Since the Crimson Tide won the first meeting between these teams in 2013, the Bulldogs have won the last six meetings, including the playoffs. In those six games, Bedford has won by an average of 24.8 points. - Manchester Memorial at Pinkerton, Sept. 13, 7 p.m. - Goffstown at Windham, Sept. 14, 1:30 p.m. - **Londonderry at Salem, Sept. 14, 7 p.m. (at Haverhill, Mass.):** The Lancers snapped a four-game losing streak to the Blue Devils with a 28-21 win. All of Salem's home games in 2019 will be played at Haverhill High School while the Blue Devils' field is being renovated. ### East/West cluster - Spaulding at Nashua North, Sept. 13, 6:30 p.m. - **Dover at Merrimack, Sept. 13, 6:30 p.m.:** The Green Wave have won five of the last seven meetings with the Tomahawks, but Merrimack won the most recent game, 37-18 in 2015. - Exeter at Keene, Sept. 13, 7 p.m. - Portsmouth at Winnacunnet, Sept. 13, 7 p.m. - **Nashua South at Bishop Guertin, Sept. 14, 6:30 p.m.:** Since renewing the rivalry in 2013, the Panthers and Cardinals have split all six meetings, with South winning the last two by an average of 21 points. ## Week 3 ### North/South cluster - Timberlane at Londonderry, Sept. 20, 7 p.m. - Windham at Manchester Memorial, Sept. 20, 7 p.m. - **Pinkerton at Manchester Central, Sept. 20, 7:15 p.m.:** The Little Green's 33-13 win over the Astros in 2016 snapped a four-game losing streak for Central against Pinkerton. - **Bedford at Goffstown, Sept. 21, 1:30 p.m.:** The Bulldogs beat the Grizzlies twice last season by a combined score of 85-21\. That brings the all-time series even at 6-6, with each team beating the other once in the playoffs. - Concord at Salem, Sept. 21, 7 p.m. (at Haverhill, Mass.) ### East/West cluster - Keene at Nashua South, Sept. 20, 6:30 p.m. - **Nashua North at Dover, Sept. 20, 7 p.m.:** The Titans will be looking for their first win against the Green Wave, as Dover won the only two meetings between the teams in 2013 (27-21) and 2016 (23-21). - **Merrimack at Exeter, Sept. 20, 7 p.m.:** These former D2 foes have played just once in the last 10 years, with the Tomahawks upsetting an undefeated Blue Hawks team 30-28 during the 2015 season. - Winnacunnet at Spaulding, Sept. 20, 7 p.m. - **Portsmouth at Bishop Guertin, Sept. 21, 6:30 p.m.:** When these teams met in Nashua in 2016, the Cardinals rallied from an 11-point deficit in the fourth quarter to beat the Clippers 39-38. ## Week 4 ### North/South cluster - Salem at Timberlane, Sept. 27, 6:30 p.m. - **Londonderry at Pinkerton, Sept. 27, 7 p.m.:** The Astros added two more wins to their win streak over the Lancers, as Pinkerton was the only team Londonderry lost to a season ago. Pinkerton has won 20 in a row against its Mac Plaque rival. - Manchester Memorial at Bedford, Sept. 27, 7 p.m. - Manchester Central at Windham, Sept. 27, 7 p.m. - Goffstown at Concord, Sept. 28, 1 p.m. ### East/West cluster - **Exeter at Nashua North, Sept. 27, 6:30 p.m.:** This will be the first meeting between the teams since the 2016 semifinals, which the Blue Hawks won 23-20 in overtime after making a goal line stand before kicking the game-winning field goal. - Nashua South at Merrimack, Sept. 27, 6:30 p.m. - **Bishop Guertin at Keene, Sept. 27, 7 p.m.:** Since both moved up to D1, the Cardinals have won five of six meetings with the Blackbirds, averaging 30.8 points. Keene hasn't scored against Bishop Guertin since 2016. - **Dover at Winnacunnet, Sept. 27, 7 p.m.:** The Warriors picked up a 20-10 win over the Green Wave a year ago to extend their run against their seacoast rivals to six wins in the last seven games. - Spaulding at Portsmouth, Sept. 27, 7 p.m. ## Week 5 ### North/South cluster - Concord at Timberlane, Oct. 4, 6:30 p.m. - Goffstown at Manchester Memorial, Oct. 4, 7 p.m. - Bedford at Manchester Central, Oct. 4, 7:15 p.m. - **Londonderry at Windham, Oct. 5, 1:30 p.m.:** In the teams' first meeting last year, the Lancers scored two special teams touchdowns in the first half and held on for a 35-23 win over the Jaguars. - **Pinkerton at Salem, Oct. 5, 2 p.m. (at Haverhill, Mass.):** The Blue Devils have won both of the regular-season meetings between the teams in each of the last two seasons, but the Astros have beaten Salem on its own field in the last two semifinals. ### East/West cluster - **Nashua South at Nashua North, Oct. 4, 6:30 p.m.:** The Titans have won three of the last four regular-season meetings between the two teams, while the Panthers have won three of the last four Turkey Bowls. - Portsmouth at Keene, Oct. 4, 7 p.m. - **Spaulding at Dover, Oct. 4, 7 p.m.:** The Green Wave will be looking for their fifth win in a row against the Red Raiders. Dover leads the all-time series, which dates back to 1906, 69-46-6. - **Winnacunnet at Exeter, Oct. 5, 1:30 p.m.:** The Warriors won last year's meeting 21-7 to make it two wins in a row over the Blue Hawks and their fourth since 2010. - Merrimack at Bishop Guertin, Oct. 5, 7:30 p.m. ## Week 6 ### North/South cluster - **Londonderry at Bedford, Oct. 11, 7 p.m.:** Odd stat for the week - Londonderry has never scored a point against Bedford. The teams have only played twice, with the Bulldogs winning 19-0 in 2013 and 47-0 in 2016. - **Timberlane at Pinkerton, Oct. 11, 7 p.m.:** Since the Owls beat the Astros in 2015, Pinkerton has won the last three meetings between the two by a combined 117-31. - Concord at Manchester Memorial, Oct. 11, 7 p.m. - **Salem at Windham, Oct. 12, 1:30 p.m.:** The Jaguars won the first meeting between the neighboring schools, taking a 31-28 victory on the Blue Devils' home field. - Manchester Central at Goffstown, Oct. 12, 1:30 p.m. ### East/West cluster - **Bishop Guertin at Nashua North, Oct. 11, 6:30 p.m.:** The Titans have won five out of seven meetings with the Cardinals, including the last four in a row. In those wins, North has averaged 55.3 points per game. - Keene at Merrimack, Oct. 11, 6:30 p.m. - Exeter at Spaulding, Oct. 11, 7 p.m. - Dover at Portsmouth, Oct. 11, 7 p.m. - Nashua South at Winnacunnet, Oct. 11, 7 p.m. ## Week 7 ### North/South cluster - Windham at Timberlane, Oct. 18, 6:30 p.m. - Goffstown at Londonderry, Oct. 18, 7 p.m. - **Bedford at Salem, Oct. 18, 7 p.m. (at Haverhill, Mass.):** The Bulldogs have never lost to the Blue Devils, as Bedford beat Salem in 2013 and twice in 2016, including the playoffs. - Concord at Pinkerton, Oct. 18, 7 p.m. - **Manchester Memorial at Manchester Central, Oct. 18, 7:15 p.m.:** The Little Green have won seven of the last 10 meetings between the teams, including each of the last four. The Crusaders' last win was a 41-14 win over Central in the 2014 Turkey Bowl. ### East/West cluster - Portsmouth at Merrimack, Oct. 18, 6:30 p.m. - Spaulding at Nashua South, Oct. 18, 6:30 p.m. - **Dover at Exeter, Oct. 18, 7 p.m.:** Last year's 28-18 win for the Green Wave snapped an 11-game losing streak against the Blue Hawks that dated back to 2004. - Nashua North at Keene, Oct. 19, 1 p.m. - **Winnacunnet at Bishop Guertin, Oct. 19, 6:30 p.m.:** Long-time rivals in D2, the Warriors and Cardinals have played just twice since 2013, with Bishop Guertin winning in 32-28 in 2016 and Winnacunnet winning 23-22 in 2013. ## Week 8 ### North/South cluster - Manchester Central at Concord, Oct. 25, 7 p.m. - Timberlane at Bedford, Oct. 25, 7 p.m. - Londonderry at Manchester Memorial, Oct. 25, 7 p.m. - **Pinkerton at Windham, Oct. 26, 1:30 p.m.:** The Jaguars started another conference rivalry off on the right foot, as they got out to a four-touchdown lead against the Astros and held on for a 35-21 in the teams' first meeting in 2018. - **Salem at Goffstown, Oct. 26, 1:30 p.m.:** The Grizzlies won the last meeting in 2016 by a score of 39-35, scoring the game-winning touchdown with 10 seconds left. That capped a second half that had five lead changes and 50 combined points by the teams in horrible field conditions. ### East/West cluster - **Merrimack at Nashua North, Oct. 25, 6:30 p.m.:** This will be the fourth meeting between the two teams in the last three years, but the first played at Stellos Stadium. The Tomahawks picked up two wins over the Titans in 2018, including a 6-0 overtime win in the quarterfinals. - **Nashua South at Dover, Oct. 25, 7 p.m.:** When these teams last met in 2016, the Panthers scored a touchdown in the final minute of the game to clinch a playoff spot and knock the Green Wave out of the postseason. - Exeter at Portsmouth, Oct. 25, 7 p.m. - Keene at Winnacunnet, Oct. 25, 7 p.m. - Bishop Guertin at Spaulding, Oct. 25, 7 p.m. ## Week 9 ### North/South cluster - **Bedford at Pinkerton, Nov. 1, 7 p.m.:** A rematch of last year's championship game, won by the Bulldogs, and the 2014 championship game, won by the Astros. Bedford leads the all-time series with Pinkerton, having won three of four meetings. - Manchester Memorial at Salem, Nov. 1, 7 p.m. (at Haverhill, Mass.) - **Manchester Central at Londonderry, Nov. 1, 7 p.m.:** The Little Green have won five straight against the Lancers, with Londonderry's last win a 31-20 victory during the 2009 season. - Windham at Concord, Nov. 1, 7 p.m. - Goffstown at Timberlane, Nov. 1, 7 p.m. ### East/West cluster - **Exeter at Nashua South, Nov. 1, 6:30 p.m.:** The last time these teams met, the Panthers gave the Blue Hawks all they could handle in a 21-17 Exeter win in the 2016 quarterfinals. - Winnacunnet at Merrimack, Nov. 1, 6:30 p.m. - Nashua North at Portsmouth, Nov. 1, 7 p.m. - **Spaudling at Keene, Nov. 1, 7 p.m.:** Since both teams made the playoffs in 2013, the Blackbirds (8-38) and the Red Raiders (4-41) have combined to win just 12 games. - Dover at Bishop Guertin, Nov. 2, 6:30 p.m. ### Quarterfinals - Nov. 9, at home of higher seed. ### Semifinals - Nov. 16, at home of higher seed. ### Championship - Nov. 24, 6 p.m., at University of New Hampshire.
