Bracketology: Division II girls basketball

There’s only about two weeks left in the Division II girls basketball regular season, but that’s plenty of time for a lot to change going into the postseason.

Here’s where each team stands going into Friday’s games. All records are from NHIAA.org.

Top four

  • Portsmouth (12-0)
  • Merrimack Valley (12-1)
  • Lebanon (11-2)
  • Souhegan (10-2)

Portsmouth has been the dominant team this season, winning each game by a double-digit margin. Merrimack Valley has played just three teams in Division II with a winning record this year. Souhegan's two losses have come against Portsmouth and Lebanon.

Next four

  • Hanover (9-4)
  • Goffstown (10-5)
  • Hollis Brookline (9-5)
  • Pembroke (8-5)

Like Souhegan, Hanover has played the top teams tough but has come up short against each one. Goffstown has won four in a row, including ones over Lebanon and Pembroke. Hollis Brookline has been a surprise this season, going 8-2 in its last 10.
