# Bracketology: Division I girls basketball (Jan. 13)

It’s a little more than seven weeks until the start of the girls basketball postseason in New Hampshire, so here is a look at where each team stands and who is in and who is out in Division I.

*Note: With the NHIAA’s new 70-percent rule in place for the postseason, Division I girls basketball will have 12 playoff teams. Standings based off results reported to NHIAA.org and other media outlets.*

### Division I

**Playoff field**

1. Bedford (8-0, 4.0000). Games this week: vs. Winnacunnet (Jan. 13), vs. Bishop Guertin (Jan. 17).
2. Alvirne (6-0, 4.0000). Games this week: at Pinkerton (Jan. 13), vs. Spaulding (Jan. 19).
3. Pinkerton (6-0, 4.0000). Games this week: vs. Alvirne (Jan. 13).
4. Bishop Guertin (5-1, 3.3333). Games this week: vs. Nashua South (Jan. 13), at Bedford (Jan. 17).
5. Trinity (4-2, 2.6667). Games this week: vs. Salem (Jan. 13).
6. Londonderry (4-3, 2.2857). Games this week: vs. Exeter (Jan. 13).
7. Winnacunnet (4-4, 2.0000). Games this week: at Bedford (Jan. 13), at Salem (Jan. 17).
8. Manchester Central (3-3, 2.0000). Games this week: at Nashua North (Jan. 13).

**Tiebreakers**

- Alvirne has the No. 2 seed over Pinkerton thanks to the quality of wins against tournament opponents tiebreaker.
- Winnacunnet holds the head-to-head tiebreaker with Manchester Central.
- Five teams are currently tied for the final four spots, with Salem and Nashua North coming out on top for a better rating against tournament teams. Salem holds the head-to-head tiebreaker with North, so the Blue Devils would be ninth and the Titans 10th. Merrimack would be 11th because of a better rating against tournament teams, and Dover gets the final spot over Exeter based on more road wins than the Blue Hawks.

**First-round byes:** The top four seeds get a bye into the quarterfinals.
