# Bracketology: Division I boys basketball (Jan. 27)

It’s a little more than five weeks until the start of the boys basketball postseason in New Hampshire, so here is a look at where each team stands and who is in and who is out in Division I.

*Note: With the NHIAA’s new 70-percent rule in place for the postseason, Division I boys basketball will have 13 playoff teams. Standings based off results reported to NHIAA.org and other media outlets.*

### Division I

**Playoff field**

1. Portsmouth (9-0, 4.0000). Last week: No. 1.
2. Exeter (6-1, 3.4286). Last week: No. 4.
3. Spaulding (7-2, 3.1111). Last week: No. 6.
4. Merrimack (6-2, 3.0000). Last week: No. 2.
5. Bedford (5-2, 2.8571). Last week: No. 3.
6. Alvirne (5-2, 2.8571). Last week: No. 5.
7. Salem (4-2, 2.6667). Last week: No. 7.
8. Winnacunnet (6-3, 2.6667). Last week: No. 8.
9. Nashua South (4-3, 2.2857). Last week: No. 10.
10. Manchester Memorial (3-3, 2.0000). Last week: No. 11.
11. Londonderry (3-3, 2.0000). Last week: No. 9.

**Outside:** Nashua North (2-5, 1.1429); Dover (2-7, 1.0000); Manchester Central (1-5, 0.6667); Keene (1-5, 0.6667); Concord (1-6, 0.5714); Trinity (0-8, 0.0000).

**Rising:** Spaulding has won five of six games to move up to third in the standings.

**Falling:** Dover has dropped its last three games to fall out of a playoff spot.

**Tiebreakers**

- Bedford wins the tiebreaker with Alvirne thanks to a better rating against tournament teams.
- Salem wins the tiebreaker with Winnacunnet thanks to a better rating against tournament teams.
- Manchester Memorial wins the tiebreaker with Londonderry thanks to a better rating against tournament teams.
