Well, that didn't take long. One week into the football regular season, and there's already a new No. 1 team in the New Hampshire Orthopaedic Center/NHHSSports Coaches Poll.
Well, that didn't take long. One week into the football regular season, and there's already a new No. 1 team in the New Hampshire Orthopaedic Center/NHHSSports Coaches Poll.
Bishop Guertin moves up from No. 2 to the top spot, getting 16 first-place votes, claiming the No. 1 position for the first time in the poll's history. The Cardinals opened the preseason poll behind Pinkerton by just seven points.
Meanwhile, Salem, fresh off its comeback win against the Astros, jumped four spots to move into second in the poll. Winnacunnet, which received a first-place vote, remained at No. 3, while Londonderry stayed at No. 4.
Bedford, which got the remaining first-place vote, jumped two spots to round out the top five.
Exeter climbed from 10th up to No. 6 this week and Pinkerton fell all the way to No. 7 after the loss to Salem. Windham and Concord remained at Nos. 8 and 9 following the Jaguars win over the Crimson Tide.
Manchester Memorial dropped five spots to take the final spot in the poll.

The coaches poll is voted on by football coaches from around the state and members of the media. The poll will be updated every Monday throughout the regular season.
