Bishop Guertin field hockey tops Pinkerton in overtime

Erica Chareth scored with six-plus minutes left in overtime Tuesday to lift the Bishop Guertin High School field hockey team to a 3-2 win over Pinkerton Academy.

The win was the sixth straight for the Cardinals (9-2 in Division I), who also got goals from Heather Camacho and Katie Lupo. Kelly Mahoney and Greta Reilly combined for 12 saves for the winners.

Pinkerton (8-2-1) got goals from Courtney DesRoches and Madison Lolicata.

All four goals scored in regulation came in the first half, with Camacho giving Bishop Guertin the lead 33 seconds in and Pinkerton tying it up twice in the final five minutes of the half.
