The Bishop Guertin High School field hockey team saw its seven-game winning streak come to an end Wednesday in a 3-2 loss to Winnacunnet.
The Warriors (11-1-1) jumped out to a 2-0 lead, getting goals from Abby Merrill and Sophie Cheever. The Cardinals (10-3) cut the lead in two on a goal by Eric Chareth (assisted by Kate Bradford) before halftime, but fell behind by two early in the second.
Isabel Sargent scored on a penalty stroke to put Winnacunnet up 3-1 before Bradford scored, off a feed from Chareth, to make it a one-goal game again.
Kelly Mahoney and Greta Reilly teamed up to stop 17 shots for Bishop Guertin, while Priscilla Bibeau, Caroline Carey and Olivia Koutsos played well.
