# BG, Bedford top seeds in girls tennis playoffs

Both the Bishop Guertin and Bedford High School girls tennis teams earned the No. 1 seed in their respective divisions.

Bishop Guertin, which has won more than 30 consecutive matches, enters the Division I playoffs with the top seed after finishing the regular season 14-0.

The Cardinals will open the playoffs against No. 8 Nashua South (7-7) at 4 p.m. on Wednesday. Bishop Guertin won the regular-season match 7-2 on May 9\. The winner advances to the semifinals, where it will face either No. 4 Alvirne (12-2) or No. 5 Salem (10-4). The Broncos beat the Blue Devils during the regular season, 7-2 on May 13, and the two will also meet at 4 p.m. Wednesday.

Derryfield (13-1), in its first season in Division I, is the No. 2 seed and will host No. 7 Manchester Central (8-6) on Wednesday at 4 p.m. The Cougars have won 13 in a row since losing an opening-day match to Bishop Guertin, and Derryfield defeated Central 7-2 on April 15.

The winner will take on either No. 3 Londonderry (12-2) or No. 6 Exeter (10-4) in the semifinals. The Lancers won the regular-season meeting between the two, 7-2 on April 15, and they play again at 4 p.m. on Wednesday.

Both semifinal matches are scheduled for 4 p.m. on Friday at the home of the higher seed. The final will be at 4 p.m. on June 1 at Derryfield.

### Division II

Bedford (13-1) is the No. 1 seed and will host No. 8 Hollis/Brookline (11-3) in the quarterfinals at 4 p.m. on Wednesday. The teams didn't meet during the regular season. The winner will take on either No. 4 Hanover or No. 5 Trinity in the semifinals. Hanover won the regular-season match, 8-1 on May 6.

Defending-champion St. Thomas is the No. 2 seed and will host No. 7 Coe-Brown, also at 4 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have yet to play each other this season. The winner will face either No. 3 Portsmouth or No. 6 Bishop Brady in the semifinals. Those two didn't play during the regular season.

The semifinals are scheduled for 4 p.m. on Friday at the home of the higher seed, while the championship game will be at 4 p.m. on June 1 at Memorial Field in Concord.

### Division III

Bow earned the No. 1 seed and will take on No. 4 Berlin in the semifinals on Wednesday at 4 p.m. The teams didn't play each other during the regular season.

The winner will face either No. 2 Profile or No. 3 Gilford in the final, which is scheduled for Friday at 4 p.m. at Plymouth State University.
