Bedford hockey rolls past Alvirne

GOFFSTOWN - Nate Boyd recorded a hat trick and Jeremy Myers scored twice to lead the Bedford High School boys hockey team to a 9-2 win Saturday over Alvirne at Saint Anselm College's Sullivan Arena.

Boyd also added an assist while Chris Viola (assist), Todd Glynn, Neil Soucy (assist) and Ben Desrosiers also had a goal each. Daniel Gregson and Andrew Connelly each had two assists for the Bulldogs (10-0 in Division II).

Alvirne (2-6) got goals from Devin Herling and Patrick DeVito, with both goals coming in the final 1:05 of the first period to cut Bedford's 3-0 lead to one. It looked like the Broncos might have a chance for more when they got two power plays to start the second, but after Bedford killed off the first, Soucy scored a shorthanded goal to make it 4-2.

Myers tallied his first with 4:54 left in the second and Desrosiers scored 16 seconds later to make it 6-2. Bedford goalie Alec Lindberg made 12 saves in the win.

Christian Gamst, Brett Pitre and Trevor Perron also had assists for Alvirne, while goalie Curtis Richall made 31 saves.
