# Bedford girls track slips past Pinkerton to win third straight D1 title

The Bedford High School girls track team had just two athletes win individual events, but the Bulldogs placed in enough events to pick up their third straight Division I title.

Bedford won with 83 points, finishing just ahead of Pinkerton (80 points), while Bishop Guertin was third with 53 points, the first time since 2002 the Cardinals didn't finish in the top two as a team.

Exeter's Jacqueline Gaughan was the athlete to win multiple events, as she was first in the 1,500-meter run and set a state record in the 3,000\. The junior's time of 9 minutes, 44.51 seconds broke the record of 9:59.34 set by Nashua's Amy Ruston in 1999.
