Bedford girls track makes it three in a row with convincing D1 win

HAMPTON - Noah Pion felt confident going into Friday's Division I track championship about the chances for his Bedford High School girls track team to win its third straight title.

When the Bulldogs were hovering around first place with some of their strongest events yet to be counted, Pion knew Bedford was in great shape.

"I started to feel pretty good about the meet when we were close to leading without the high jump scored," Pion said. "I knew how well we were doing in high jump."

The Bulldogs scored 22.5 points in the high jump, out of a possible 31, catapulting them into first for good, as Bedford scored 116.5 points to win for the third year in a row. Londonderry was second with 75 points.
