WINDHAM - Josh Sweeney ran for a touchdown and threw for another Saturday to help lead the Windham High School football team to a 52-0 win over Alvirne.

Sweeny ran for 59 yards and a 2-yard score and was 3 of 6 for 27 yards and hit Bryan Desmarias for a 13-yard touchdown. Desmarias also had 61 yards rushing and a touchdown and Tiger An had 46 yards on the ground and a score.

David Croteau returned an interception 25 yards for a touchdown and the Jaguars' special teams blocked two punts, the second of which was recovered by Christian Parsons in the end zone for another score. Billy Depietro also had a rushing touchdown and Liam Burke kicked a 38-yard field goal and made all seven extra points.

Bishop Guertin 31, Winnacunnet 8

Matt Santosuosso ran for two touchdowns and passes for another to help lead the Cardinals (5-0) to the win over the Warriors (0-5).

Santosuosso ran for 91 yards and touchdowns of 41 and 17 yards and was 11 of 15 passing for 100 yards and a score. Ronan Balistreri had two catches for 32 yards and a 20-yard touchdown and he ran for a 45-yard score while also getting an interception on defense.

Cody Szymansky caught three passes for 71 yards and Ethan Chmielecki ran for 67 yards and caught four passes for 30 yards.

Frankie Brown led Winnacunnet with 101 yards rushing and a touchdown while Conor Fenlon was 6 of 9 passing for 50 yards and an interception.

Field Hockey

Pinkerton 5, Nashua North 0

Ava Bennett had a goal and an assist and Abby Shawley had three assists as the Astros (5-6) snapped a four-game skid against the Titans.

Claudia Perkins (assist) and Julia Murgo each scored their first goals of the season and Isabelle Toupin and Hannah Lisauskas also had a goal each. Gianna Rosa added an assist.

Brenna Hines (one save) and Elise LeBlanc (three) combined for the win.

North got 18 saves from Abigail O'Malley.

Nashua South 3, Merrimack 1

Karina O'Donnell had a goal and an assist to lead the Panthers (3-8) to their third win in their last four games.

Krista Reid and Lizzie DeRusha also had a goal each while Roseanne Shiju and Maddie Berthiaume each had an assist. Kaitlyn Tello made 10 saves while Maren Lowell, Wylie Hart, Brady Murray, Ava Foss and Emily Richard played well for South.

Gwen Morales scored the lone goal for Merrimack.
