Around the Granite State: Wednesday's Roundup
The Bishop Guertin High School field hockey team opened the Division I season Wednesday with a 7-2 win at Manchester Memorial.
Brooke Yabroudy led the scoring for the Cardinals (1-0) with two goals and two assists while Rylee Bouvier, Elisa Harnish, Lindsay Hult and Sophia Alton also had a goal apiece. Sarah Coyle, Britney Pearson and Alayja Linton each added an assist.
Monina Tosi made six saves for Bishop Guertin, which will host Manchester Central in its home opener at 3:30 p.m. Friday at Stellos Stadium.
Keene 4, Nashua South 0
The Panthers dropped their season opener on the road to the Blackbirds. Courtney Tello made 15 saves for South (0-1), which will head to Exeter on Wednesday.
Hanover 6, John Stark 0
The Marauders picked up a Division II road win on Tuesday by blanking the Generals.
Kate Blaisdell had two goals and two assists and Hillary Mackall also scored twice for Hanover (1-0). Wylie Lucas had two assists and Miranda Galbraith and Anna Stafford had a goal apiece.
Plymouth 3, Pembroke 1
The Bobcats opened the Division II season with a road win over the Spartans on Tuesday.
Liv Eastman had two goals to lead Plymouth (1-0), including what proved to be the game-winner in the second half. Gabby Kartakosol also had a goal while Emma Webster and Stella Smith each added an assist.
Katie Lambert and Hannah Olmstead also played well for the Bobcats.
