Around the Granite State: Wednesday's Roundup
The Bishop Guertin High School boys lacrosse team rallied in the fourth quarter for a 10-9 win over Boston College High on Wednesday.
The Cardinals (12-2, No. 1 in the NHHSS Coaches Poll) scored four goals in the final 12 minutes, including the game-winner by Dawson Clark with seconds left in regulation. That goal was set up by a save by James Heitmiller on the Eagles (6-7) previous possession; Heitmiller finished with 14 saves.
Clark had three goals while Sean Cameron had two goals and three assists. Chris Kiely had two goals and an assist for Bishop Guertin while Ben Abladian and Joey Lupo had a goal and an assist each. Alex Koutsos also scored.
Nashua South 14, Keene 2
The Panthers ended a three-game losing skid with a win over the Blackbirds.
Nate Campbell led South (8-7) with five goals and an assist while Jordan Bodwell had a goal and three assists. Drew Fleury and Brad Deitrich added two goals apiece and Joe Buturla had a goal and an assist.
Joe Bodi, CJ Dawe and Jaiden Dupont also scored a goal each and Griffin Johnson and Aiden Walsh each added an assist. Dupont won 15 of 16 faceoffs and Dominic Pasquale made six saves.
Goffstown 12, Kennett 0
The Grizzlies extended their winning streak to eight in a row with a victory over the Eagles.
Nick Mason had two goals and two assists while Austin Taylor, Konnaugh Donovan and John Erwin each chipped in with two goals. Griffin Cook and Kevin Buciak each had a goal and an assist.
Andy Mason and Kyle Auger had a goal apiece and Andrew McCarthy and Matt Fleming had an assist each. Grady Chretien made five saves and the Grizzlies (10-4) won 14 of 16 faceoffs.
Ryan Murphy made 13 saves for Kennett (1-8).
Hopkinton 16, Milford 4
The Spartans fell at home to the Hawks in Division III action.
Corey Girouard led the way for Milford (2-7) with three goals while Logan Barnhill and Riley O'Shaughnessy added a goal apiece. Nate Johnson and Zack Spirito each had an assist.
Coe-Brown 10, Spaulding 2
The Bears (6-5) picked up their second win of the season over the Red Raiders Tuesday behind three goals and two assists from Jack Cinquegrano.
Ryan Whicher and Will Sawyer added two goals and an assist each and Jacob Radwan also scored twice. Aaron Bono had a goal and an assist while Wells Lambert, Cole Hodgdon and Ryan Nester had an assist apiece.
Girls Lacrosse
Hollis Brookline 16, Coe-Brown 6
The Cavaliers moved to 11-0 on the season with a win over the Bears.
Kelsey Sweeney had four goals and two assists to lead HB while Paisley Broadhurst and Abbey Magnuszewski had three goals apiece. Tasha White had a goal, two assists and four draw controls and Victoria Bruzik had two goals.
Rachel Cerato, Meghan Veino and Morgan Broadhurst also scored a goal each while Grace Wilson, Hallie Bardani and Sarah Dreyer played well.
Pinkerton 17, Merrimack 3
Kiley Davis scored five goals to lead the Astros (13-1) to their 10th win in a row.
Lauren Lisauskas added four goals and two assists and Lilly Auger had four goals and a helper for Pinkerton. Zoe Howe had two goals and three assists and Abby Jowett added two goals.
Haliey Peredna, Masison Daziel and Katelyn Bnnett each had an assist while Dani Martineau and Lauren Sweeney combined for three saves.
Souhegan 14, Londonderry 7
The Sabers (11-2) picked up their 11th win of the season by beating the Lancers.
Abby Hawkes had three goals and two assist and Clare Woodford had three goals and one assist. Savannah Behn and Taylor Clark also had three goals apiece, while Hannah Rowe had two goals and an assist and Alex LaBrosse made 14 saves.
Londonderry (6-8) got two goals each from Grace Holland and Hannah McCutcheon. Grace Chicko, Maddy Walden and Sarah Duarte had a goal apiece and Morgan Boutus made seven saves.
Bedford 17, Nashua North 5
The Titans dropped their fifth in a row to the Bulldogs.
Campbell Haller had three goals for North (4-10) while Hannah Fortin and Kaylee Hubbard had a goal apiece.
Laconia 16, Derryfield 13
The Cougars (9-2) took the loss despite getting seven goals and two assists from Lucy Licata.
Olivia Strong added three goals and four assists and Sydney Socha had three goals for Derryfield. Charlotte Rohlfs added an assist while Karla Meschkat played well on offense.
Shawna Lesmerises made 12 saves while Maggie Cissel, Julia Tilton, Jess Carr, Lauren MacLean and Leah Hoey played well defensively.
