The Hollis Brookline High School girls volleyball team held off Merrimack for a 3-0 win Wednesday in Division I action. Game scores were 25-18, 25-13 and 25-13.

Hanna Close led the Cavaliers (4-0) with eight kills and Meaghan Coutu had six kills and three aces. Angelina Leonard had five aces and 21 assists.

Emily Sartell recorded four aces and seven digs while Jessica Cooper had three aces and five digs and Annette Schlunk had three aces.

Nashua North 3, Bishop Guertin 0

The Cardinals came up short against the Titans, falling by scores of 25-13, 27-25 and 25-20.

Maddy Keating had four aces, eight kills and seven digs to lead Bishop Guertin, while Julia Foster had 14 assists and Emma Charron had 12 digs.

Epping 3, Manchester West 0

The Blue Devils improved to 3-1 with a win over the Blue Knights. Game scores were 25-13, 25-21 and 25-23.

Pacy Morgado had eight aces, three kills and 15 assists for Epping and Kate Chapman recorded five aces, five kills and five digs. Gracie Re had three aces, nine kills and two digs.

Portsmouth Christian 3, Nute 1

The Eagles picked up a road win Tuesday to improve to 2-3 on the year. Game scores were 25-15, 25-27, 25-14 and 25-13.

Lindsey Hatfield led the way with seven kills and 10 aces while Joey Skubisz had six kills, four aces and two blocks. Josie Hewitt added five kills and Bella Ouellette had 18 assists and five aces.

Maddy Kniphfer had 11 digs and Liahna Messier recorded eight digs while Lauren Vincent had two blocks.

Field Hockey

Manchester Central-West 1, Nashua South 0

Central-West scored the game's only goal early in the fourth quarter to pick up its second win of the week over South.

Courtney Tello made 25 saves for the Panthers (2-3-1) while Soleil Dubois, Lizzie DeRusha, Amy Marison, Morgan Preston and Kaitlyn West played well.

Plymouth 4, Laconia 1

Ashley Bennett scored three goal in the second half Tuesday to help lead the Bobcats past the Sachems.

Rylei Keefe put Plymouth on the board in the first quarter, but Laconia tied it up right before halftime. Bennett broke the tie with her first goal early in the third quarter and made it 3-1 five minutes later, scoring off an assist from Holly Hoyt.
