Around the Granite State: Wednesday's Roundup

The Hollis Brookline High School girls volleyball team improved to 7-0 on the season with a 3-1 win over Windham on Wednesday. Game scores were 20-25, 25-8, 25-14 and 25-19.

Kaleigh Whalen led the Cavaliers with 19 kills and seven aces and Maren Anderson had 11 kills and 11 digs. Sydney Powers added five kills and three blocks and Sammie Sheppard had 15 digs.

Jessica Cooper recorded three aces and had a long serving run in each set, including 10 in a row in Game 2.

Nashua South 3, Timberlane 0

The Panthers improved to 7-0 with a sweep of the Owls. Cara Lecklder had five kills for South and Catherine Covert had four kills. Anne Sherman and Kaitlin Fitzgibbons had 10 assists each.

Portsmouth 3, Bishop Guertin 1

The Cardinals won the first game but dropped the next three to fall to the Clippers. Game scores were 15-25, 25-9, 25-20 and 26-24.

Libby Knapp had 15 kills, nine digs and three aces and Kristen Coumas recorded 19 assists and eight digs. Alicia Glasheen added 12 assists and four digs while Emma Charron had nine kills and Lydia Litvak recorded seven blocks.

Portsmouth Christian 3, Hillsboro-Deering 0

The Eagles picked up their first win of the season, winning with game scores of 25-8, 25-12 and 25-16.

Mollie McCormack had seven kills, five aces and two blocks and Becca Jones added six kills. Lindsey Hatfield had five aces and Joey Skubisz had four kills and four aces while Hannah Abraham recorded four digs.

Field Hockey

Concord 7, Manchester Memorial 0

Kait McKinnon had four goals to help the Crimson Tide snap a two-game skid with the win over the Crusaders.

Jordan Cromwell added two goals and Sam Ossoff had two assists for Concord.

Merrimack 4, Nashua South 1

The Panthers came up short against the Tomahawks, getting a goal from Kirsten McIntire. Courtney Tello made 16 saves for South.
