Around the Granite State: Thursday's Roundup

The Bishop Guertin High School boys lacrosse got up on Reading (Mass.) early and never looked back on the way to a 17-7 win on Thursday at Stellos Stadium.

Sean Cameron led the Cardinals (9-2) with two goals and six assists and Ben Abladian added three goals and two assists. Dawson Clark and Chris Kiely also had three goals apiece while Alex Koutsos had a goal and an assist.

Chris Heitmiller, Joey Lupo, Trent Prcelli, Chris Sullivan and Aidan Ahearn also had a goal apiece for Bishop Guertin. James Heitmiller made 14 saves in goal.

Reading (9-4) got two goals and an assist apiece from Michael Tobin and Colin Comerford while Charlie Giuliotti had 18 saves.

Goffstown 12, Merrimack 3

The Grizzlies (8-4) outscored the Tomahawks 8-1 in the second half to pick up the win.

Nick Mason led the way with four goals and two assists and Griffin Cook added three goals and two assists for Goffstown. Andrew and Alex McCarthy each had a goal and an assist while Konnaugh Donovan had two goals.

Eric Lacerte also scored and Kevin Buciak and Zach Provost had an assist each. Grady Chretien made 10 saves while Andrew and Alex McCarthy and John Erwin combined to win 15 of 19 faceoffs.

Merrimack (6-4) got three goals from Jordan Petrocelli while TJ Fasano had an assist and Garrett Murray made three saves.

Hollis Brookline 7, John Stark 6

The Generals (4-5) fell behind early and couldn't catch the Cavaliers.

Cam Fortin had three goals to lead John Stark while Kayden Easter had two goals and an assist and Owen Jones also scored.

Girls Lacrosse

Souhegan 12, Exeter 11

O'Neill Galinson had four goals, including the game-winner with a second on the clock, to lift the Sabers to a comeback win.

Souhegan trailed 8-6 at halftime, but was able to rally in the second half. Hannah Rowe also had four goals while Abby Hawkes and Margot Manz had two goals apiece. Savannah Behn added two assists and Alex LaBrosse made eight saves.

Exeter got four goals from Allison Kelley while Carley Pierce and Grace Allen had two goals each. Alexis LaPia, Raye Neil and Sydney Taylor had a goal each and AJ Paton made seven saves.

Hollis Brookline 16, Keene-Monadnock 4

Hollis Brookline 19, Alvirne 4

The Cavaliers played two games on Thursday, picking up two wins to improve to 9-0 on the year.

Against Keene-Monadnock, Kelsey Sweeney, Paisley Broadhurst, Tasha White and Abbey Magnuszewski each scored four goals, with Sweeney scoring the 100th of her high school career. Victoria Bruzik and Nicole Heiter added two each and Meghan Veino also scored.

Against Alvirne, Sweeney had another big game, with six goals and three assists. Broadhurst added three goals and two assists and Bruzik also had three goals. White and Magnuszewski added two goals each, while Ellie Maxwell, Brooke Allanach and Emma Ruvido also scored.
