# Around the Granite State: Souhegan field hockey opens it up late to beat John Stark

WEARE - The Souhegan High School field hockey team scored twice in the final minute of the third quarter to break open a close game Saturday on the way to a 5-1 win over John Stark. 

Abby Gray had two goals and an assist while Scarlett Lecolst and Zendaya Beamer scored a goal and added an assist apiece for the Sabers (7-0-2, No. 4 in the New Hampshire Orthopaedic Center/NHHSSports Coaches Poll). 

Mariellah Dart also had a goal and Ava Burbee had an assist in the win. 

Addie DeCew had the goal for the Generals (3-5) while Rowin Ledy and Sage Lambert combined to make 10 saves. 

**Goffstown 7, Nashua North 0**

Stella Enman and Maeve Hammond had two goals apiece for the Grizzlies as they shutout the Titans. 

Trinity Lunn added a goal and an assist while Claire Brisiel and Madigan Buckley chipped in a goal apiece for Goffstown (2-4-1). Lily Burke, Ava Eastman and Meredith Twomey also had a goal each and Hope Moulton made two saves. 

Sophia Wine finished with 11 saves for North. 

**No. 1 Pinkerton 3, No. 9 Hanover 1**

The Astros scored twice in the second half and held off the Bears in a crossover game. 

Meaghan Shea had a goal and an assist for Pinkerton (7-0-1 in D1) while Cayden Madeiros and Lauren Sherry also scored. Jordyn Schreiber also had an assist and Molly Kuncik recorded 14 saves. 

Grace Healey scored for Hanover (5-2-1 in D2) with Sophia Mancini getting an assist. Ruby Lintner finished with seven saves for the Bears. 

Pinkerton scored early to take the lead, but Hanover didn't take long to answer and the game remained 1-1 into halftime. 

Each team had a penalty stroke in the third quarter, with Shea scoring to give the Astros the lead while Kuncik saved an attempt by Mancini. Sherry also scored in the third and Pinkerton was able to hold off a furious Hanover surge in the fourth quarter to get the win. 

**Mascenic 8, Conant 0**

The Vikings got five goals from Reese Alix on the way to a win over the Orioles.

Hailey Saari added a goal and two assists and Kiahna Farrey and Grace Matson chipped in with a goal and an assist each for Mascenic (5-1-1). 

**Merrimack 3, Salem 2 (OT)**

Allie Wyand had two goals, including a penalty stroke, to help the Tomahawks get a win against the Blue Devils. 

Syd Capen also scored while Jocelyn Theriault and Izzy Callahan had a goal apiece. Grace Massey also played well for Merrimack (5-2). 

**No. 10 Bishop Guertin 4, Nashua South 1**

The Cardinals took the lead in the first half and held off the Panthers in the second. 

Bella Hwalek had the lone goal for South (2-5) and Sofia Forti recorded an assist. Lilly Hurd finished with 11 saves while Emme Christian, Aubrey Rose and Molly Mullaney played well.
