Drew Gryniewicz threw four touchdown passes Saturday and the Hollis Brookline High School football team was stout on defense in a 34-8 win over Timberlane.
Gryniewicz completed 12 of 18 passes for 306 yards and tossed two scoring passes to Blake Bergerson, who had seven catches for 189 yards. Jack Delaney had four catches for 25 yards and a score and Isaiah Velez caught a 39-yard touchdown.
Marc-Andre Thermitus added a 95-yard touchdown run in the first quarter, one play after HB (2-2) stopped Timberlane on fourth down at the Cavaliers' 5-yard line.
Timberlane got an 8-yard touchdown run from Ethan Stewart and scored the game's first points on safety. But the Owls had just five yards of offense in the second half.
The game was the first football game played on the school's new turf field.
Girls Volleyball
Hollis Brookline 3, Londonderry 0
The Cavaliers swept the Lancers with scores of 25-15, 25-15 and 25-20.
Hanna Close had seven kills and six aces and Sarah Dreyer added seven kills for HB (6-1). Meaghan Coutu recorded five kills while Angelina Leonard had 19 assists and Jess Cooper had five digs.
Oyster River 3, Portsmouth Christian 0
The Eagles came up short against the Bobcats. Game scores were 25-14, 25-17 and 25-16.
Lindsey Hatfield had four kills and eight digs and Lauren Vincent had four kills, two digs, a block and an ace. Maddy Knipher had three kills and 11 digs and Bella Ouellette had 12 assists, one kill and one dig.
Boys Soccer
Souhegan 2, Milford 1
Simon Trombley and Alex Lin each had a goal to lead the Sabers to the win over the Spartans.
Trombley buried a rebound of a shot by Tyler Moran in the sixth minute to put Souhegan (1-3-1) up 1-0 and Lin scored off an assist by Jack Forristall in the 42nd minute.
Ryon Constable cut the lead in half, scoring in the 78th minute for Milford (2-2-1), with Colin Gregy picking up the assist.
Jack Morrisette made 11 saves for the Sabers while Reilly Hansen had seven for the Spartans.
Field Hockey
Souhegan 10, Milford 0
Aliah Gagnon played well in goal early for the Spartans, but the Sabers found the back of the net often in the second half to get the win.
Emma Kreatz, Shelby Miles and Hallie Gagnon played well for Milford.
