Around the Granite State: Salem, Bishop Guertin field hockey play to a scoreless tie (video)

The Salem and Bishop Guertin high school field hockey teams played for 70 minutes Wednesday and ended in a scoreless tie.

Both teams had opportunities throughout the game but couldn't capitalize. That included two penalty corners late in regulation for the Cardinals (0-0-1, No. 8 in the NHHSSports Coaches Poll) and a two-player up situation in overtime for the Blue Devils (1-0-1).

Salem's Lyndsay Troisi and Bishop Guertin's Bella Rioux both played well in goal.

No. 10 Pinkerton 3, Timberlane 0

The Astros picked up their first win of the season behind two first-quarter goals from Jaelyn Crossman.

Hannah Lisauskas scored her first varsity goal in the second quarter to make it 3-0 with Izzy Murphy picking up two assists. Ava Bennett, Natalie Paradzick and Abby Shawley each had an assist.

Elise LeBlanc made five saves for Pinkerton (1-1) while Brandi Garand had 10 saves for the Owls (0-2).

No. 1 Windham 4, Man. Central-West 0

Sophia Ponzini had a goal and an assist to help lead the Jaguars (2-0) to the win.

Ava Sanchez added two assists while Kenzie Suech and Sedona Lee each had a goal. Mia Gallinelli also played well for Windham and goalie Annie Mitchell made two saves.

Keene 4, Nashua South 0

The Blackbirds (2-0) got a goal and three assists from Kaylyn Trubiano in a win over the Panthers (0-2).

Tessa Pearson, Lindsay Marshall and Katie Harrington also scored a goal apiece for Keene while Avery Allaire added an assist.

Megan Goodwin played well on offense for the Blackbirds while Lily Rowell and Trinity Williamson split time in goal, with each recording a save.

Kaitlyn Tello had 19 saves for South while Emily Richard, Wylie Hart and Lizzie DeRusha played well.

No. 9 John Stark 5, Hollis Brookline 0

Jillian Fredette had three goals to lead the Generals (2-0) to the win over the Cavaliers.

Hailey Brisson added two goals and an assist while Lauryn Guevin and Courtney Cranshaw each had two assists.

Jackie O'Donnell and Adie Bolduc each played well defensively and goalie Edie Fischer made five saves.
