Around the Granite State: Roy, Winnacunnet get past Merrimack
Here are results from Friday night's high school basketball action.
Kaila Roy scored 34 points to help lead the Winnacunnet High School girls basketball team to a 63-51 win Friday night over Merrimack.
Roy hit six 3-pointers while Izabel Turcotte, Ari Bennett and Nora Simmons each had sevens points for the Warriors (4-9), who won for the third time in their last four games.
Meghan McCarthy led the Tomahawks with 18 points while Kelsey Ledoux and Avary Cruz each had 11 points.
Oyster River 68, Bishop Brady 34
Vivian O'Quinn and Oliva Andersen each had 18 points to lead the Bobcats past the Giants.
Ashling Ferris added nine points for Oyster River (10-2) while Wren Horne chipped in with seven markers.
Spaulding 40, Concord 25
The Red Raiders snapped a 10-game losing streak with a win over the Crimson Tide.
Damiya Perkins led the way for Spaulding (2-14) with 18 points and Meagan Uraskevich finished in double figures with 11.
Concord got 11 points from Makayla Root.
Exeter 53, Trinity 48
The Blue Hawks held off the Pioneers to pick up their third win in the last four games.
Emma Gillis led Exeter (7-6) with 14 points and Karli Scherpf added 12 points. Anna McGuinness had seven rebounds to lead the team.
Keene 73, Nashua North 49
Harper Zalaski scored 31 points to lead the Blackbirds to a road win over the Titans.
Zalaski added 11 rebounds, three blocks and was 6 for 8 at the free throw line while McKenna Nelson had 17 points and 10 boards.
Lexi Lounder recorded nine points, eight steals and six rebounds while Peyton Margatis also had nine points.
Dover 62, Manchester Memorial 35
Avery Jenkins scored 12 points to lead the Crusaders against the Green Wave.
Ashlyn Bartnicki added eight points and Kianaly Gallego finished with six points for Memorial.
Boys Basketball
Campbell 72, Somersworth 34
The Cougars won their fourth in a row and second this season against the Hilltoppers.
Logan Rice had 20 points and 10 rebounds to lead Campbell (13-2) while Jack Breton finished with 18 points and seven rebounds. Madden Ashe added 14 points and Matthew Haley was also in double figures with 11 markers.
Coe-Brown 63, Merrimack Valley 48
Aiden Gray had 29 points for the Pride but it wasn't enough against the Bears.
Jack Maston led Coe-Brown with 21 points, as the Bears outscored Merrimack Valley by 12 points in the second half.
Windham 69, Pinkerton 56
Tyler Jordan scored 20 points to lead the Jaguars past the Astros for their third win in a row.
Jack Koutrobis added 17 points and Brandon Jacobs had 16 points for Windham (7-6) while Sam Roidoulis controlled the glass and Griffin Driscoll played well off the bench.
Belmont 86, Raymond 36
The Red Raiders made it eight wins in a row with a big victory over the Rams.
Keegan Martinez led the way with 29 points while Treyshawn Ray finished with 16 points. Brady Thurber chipped in with 12 points.
Alvirne 72, Bedford 67
The Broncos won their sixth in a row while snapping the Bulldogs' own six-game win streak.
Garrett Hall scored 23 points to lead Alvirne (9-4) and Evan Bettencourt had a career-high 17 points.
