Around the Granite State: Playoff Roundup

Lucy Licata scored in the fourth overtime and Shawna Lesmerises made some key saves along the way as the Derryfield School girls lacrosse team defeated Bow 9-8 in the Division III preliminary round on Monday.

Licata had five goals and an assist, including the game-winner, while Abbey Carr added three goals and two assists. Lily Handwerk also had a goal and Casey Benson had two assists.

Lesmerises finished with 16 saves, including several in the overtimes, while Lauren MacLean, Sophie Riopel, Char Rohlfs, Lilly Losey and Hailey Ramundo played well defensively.

The Cougars will travel to St. Thomas for the quarterfinals at 4 p.m. on Wednesday.

St. Thomas 18, Bishop Brady 4

The Saints picked up a playoff win over the Giants on Monday.

Brooke Chandler led the way for St. Thomas with five goals and an assist and Megan Leahy added four goals.

Sarah Leahy also had three goals while Ellia Kuselia and Sara Anderson had two apiece. Jaimie Murray and Kylie Youngclaus also had a goal each. Becca Harmon made seven saves.

Londonderry 17, Salem 3

Jenna Stowell had five goals and an assist to lead the Lancers to a playoff win on Monday.

Kiara Edmunds added four goals and Caroline Leone also had three goals and an assist. Izzy Augusta and Grace Holland chipped in two goals and an assist apiece and Tara Wright scored twice.

Emily Cowette added an assist and Riley Walter made six saves.

Chloe Stone, Arianna Lakes and Emily Wilson (assist) each had a goal for Salem.
