Around the Granite State: Pinkerton football bounces back by shutting out Salem (video)

DERRY - Cole Yennaco ran for two touchdowns Friday night and the Pinkerton Academy football got a standout performance from its defense in a 27-0 win over Salem.

Yennaco ran for scored of 27 and 1 yard and finished with 100 yards on 17 carries. Jake Albert added 77 yards and a touchdown on the ground and Matt Morrison also ran for 98 yards, as the Astros (4-1) rushed for 295 yards after getting held under a hundred last week in a loss to Londonderry.

Caden Michaud returned an interception for a touchdown in the first quarter and Matt Feole helped Pinkerton win the field position battle, as two of his punts were downed inside the Salem 5-yard line.

The Blue Devils (1-4) got 95 yards rushing from David Jacques while Nolan Lumley had 46 yards on the ground and was 4 of 10 for 47 yards passing. Justice Casado caught three passes for 45 yards.

Concord 49, Rutland (Vt.) 6

Elia Bahuma ran for three of the Crimson Tide's seven touchdowns as they cruised to a non-division win.

Divon Duncan had rushing and receiving touchdowns, catching a scoring pass from Zack Doward, while Nathan Galbraith and Theo Schneible also scored on the ground. Jacob Plante was 7 for 7 on extra points.

Dover 7, Portsmouth-Oyster River 0

Ryder Aubin scored on a 2-yard touchdown run in the second quarter and the Green Wave defense did the rest, shutting out the ClipperCats for the win.

Gilford-Belmont 20, Laconia 7

Isaiah Reese scored two third-quarter touchdowns to help the Eagles overcome a one-point deficit against the Sachems.

Reese finished with 66 yards on the ground and was 6 of 9 for 56 yards through the air while Michael Kitto also had 72 yards and a rushing touchdown.

Inter-Lakes/Moultonborough 15, Kearsarge 6

Noah Salamanca and TJ Bailey each had touchdown runs to lead the Lakers to the win.

John Fraioli had a rushing touchdown in the third quarter to get the Cougars within two points, but Bailey scored in the fourth to wrapup the win.

Man. Central-West 1, Manchester Memorial 0

Makayla Desilets scored the game's only goal as MCW picked up its sixth win of the season.

Chloe Gilroy made seven saves in goal while Zoe Demers and Emily Bisson played well in the win.

Plymouth 4, Milford 2

The Spartans got goals from Mairead Kirby and Gabriella Forrence but it wasn't enough in a road loss to the Bobcats.

Willa Audley had an assist for Milford and Heather Whittier made 14 saves.

No. 5 John Stark 3, Hanover 0

The Generals scored three goals in the fourth quarter to beat the Bears.

Courtney Cranshaw and Caylin Worthen each had a goal and an assist and Olivia Worthen also scored for John Stark (10-0). Jillian Fredette added an assist while Aubrey Fischer, Lauryn Guevin, Adie Bolduc and Jackie O'Donnell also played well.

No. 3 Winnacunnet 3, No. 10 Concord 2 (OT)

The Warriors won in overtime for the third straight game, beating the Crimson Tide on the road.

Winnacunnet (10-1) got two goals from Abby Wilber while Emerson Parish had a goal. Grace Vander Els recorded an assist and Amber Morgado made five saves.

Girls Volleyball

Hollis Brookline 3, Windham 0

The Cavaliers (9-1) won their eighth in a row by sweeping the Jaguars. Game scores were 25-14, 25-14 and 25-21.

Annette Schlunk had eight kills and three aces and Abbie Hoffpauir had seven kills. Kate Berrigan added six blocks while Sophie Jordan had 25 assists and Maia Schneider recorded 20 digs.
