Around the Granite State: Monday's Roundup

Audrey Carter had two goals and two assists Monday night to help lead the Dover High School field hockey team to a 5-1 win over Manchester Central-West.

Gaby Anderson added two goals and an assist for the Green Wave (1-0, No. 3 in the NHHSSports Coaches Poll) while Giana Leonardi also scored a goal and Rylen Gray had an assist. Erin Lynch also played well for Dover.

Harriet Barber had the lone goal for Central-West (0-2) while Chloe Gilroy made 17 saves.

Keene 7, Merrimack 1

Cece Walier had three goals and an assist to lead the Blackbirds to a win on opening day.

Harper Zalaski added two goals while Tessa Pearson had a goal and an assist and Maya Stebbins had two assists. Maddie Boudle also scored and Sofia Miller and Makenna Nelson had an assist apiece.

Avery Allaire and Olive Thatcher also played well for Keene (1-0).

No. 1 Exeter 7, Nashua South 1

The Panthers dropped their season opener on the road against the Blue Hawks.

Erin Flaherty had the lone goal for South, with Emily Richard recording an assist. Xiadani DeLaLima made 16 saves while Maren Lowell, Karina O'Donnell and Roseanne Shiju played well.

No. 6 Pinkerton 4, Bedford 4

The Astros and Bulldogs went back and forth before finishing in a tie.

Izzy Murphy scored twice off a penalty corner, including the game-tying goal with 5:12 left in regulation. Jaelyn Crossman added a goal and an assist for Pinkerton (1-0) and Natalie Paradzick also had a goal.

Ava Bennett recorded an assist and Elise LeBlanc made 16 saves.

Bedford (1-0-1) got two goals from Sydney Davidson while Eloise Montagano and Amelia MacDonald also had a goal apiece. Addie Wolfinger made eight saves.
