Around the Granite State: Monday's Roundup

Molly Atkinson scored with 5:58 left in overtime to give the Souhegan High School field hockey team a 1-0 win over Goffstown in a Division II game Monday.

Atkinson converted a pass from Catie Summers on a penalty corner, sending a shot into the far side of the cage. Annie Raduazzo made five saves for Souhegan (3-0).

Maddie Sage had three saves for Goffstown (1-1-1) and Jaiden Lacerte made one stop. The teams will play again on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. in Amherst.

Windham 1, Manchester Central-West 0

Maddie O'Hare scored the game's only goal to give the Jaguars a win in their first game of the season. The Little Green dropped to 2-2.

Ava Milner assisted on the goal and Sienna Soverign made one save to earn the shutout. Ames Lanouette played well in the midfield, Alex Perkins was strong on defense and Cecilia Ponzini played well all-around.

Windham hosts Bishop Guertin at 4 p.m. on Thursday.

Concord 5, Manchester Memorial 0

The Crimson Tide improved to 4-0 on the year with their fourth shutout despite a quick pace of play and strong attacks early on from the Crusaders. Five different players scored goals for Concord - Kait McKinnon, Andie Reed, Maria Armaganian, Isabelle Sawyer and Maddie Raymond.

Plymouth 1, Winnisquam 0 (OT)

Holly Hoyt scored midway through overtime to give the Bobcats (1-3) the win over the Bears.

Ashley Bannon came up big in goal for Plymouth, as Winnisquam had 12 penalty corners to the Bobcats' five, and put 20 shots on goal.

Plymouth heads to Kingswood on Thursday.

Girls Volleyball

Hollis Brookline 3, Bishop Guertin 0

The Cavaliers (2-0) were in rhythm early and held on in the third set to beat the Cardinals 25-19, 25-16 and 26-24.

Cheyenne Colbert had 10 kills and two blocks for HB while Hanna Close had six kills and Emily Dreyer and Sarah Dreyer had five kills apiece. Angelina Leonard finished with 25 assists while Emily Sartell had three aces and Jessica Cooper had six digs.

Caroline Sullivan led Bishop Guertin (2-1) with four aces, six assists and five digs while Maddy Keating had two kills and 11 digs.

The teams will play against on Friday in Hollis.

Portsmouth Christian 3, Raymond 0

The Eagles (1-2) picked up their first win of the season, beating the Rams by scores of 25-15, 25-14 and 25-12.

Joey Skubisz had seven kills and four aces and Maddy Kniphfer added four kills, four aces and four digs. Lindsey Hatfield also had five kills and Josie Hewitt had three kills and six aces. Bella Outllette record 17 assists and six aces and Liahna Messier had four digs.
