Around the Granite State: Monday's Roundup
Emma Johnston scored two goals and added an assist to lead the Pinkerton Academy field hockey team to a 4-0 win Monday over Winnacunnet in Division I action.
Quinn Mailloux and Lauren Riviere also had goals for the Astros (10-0), while Justine Doyle recorded an assist. Khaliyah Ellis made five saves for her fifth straight shutout and seventh of the year.
Londonderry 3, Keene 1
After falling behind, the Lancers scored three unanswered goals in the second half to beat the Blackbirds in a D1 game.
Ainsley Hubbard gave Keene (3-8) the lead with 18:55 remaining, but Courtney Shay answered just 1:13 later, scoring off an assist from Izzy Augusta to tie the game.
Shay added another goal with 12:17 to play to put Londonderry (9-2) up 2-1 and Rease St. Gelais gave the Lancers breathing room, scoring with 2:07 remaining. Kayla Miles assisted on both goals.
Riley Walter finished with four saves for Londonderry while Libby Auger had 11 for Keene.
Girls Volleyball
Hollis Brookline 3, Alvirne 0
The Cavaliers remained unbeaten, picking up their 12th win of the season with a sweep of the Broncos in D1 action. Scores were 25-14, 25-14 and 25-22.
Kaleigh Whalen had 11 kills and Hannah Close added seven for HB while Emily Dreyer had three kills and a block. Sydney Powers had two aces and two kills and Sammie Sheppard added five aces and 16 digs.
During the match, the Cavs hosted Dig Orange, a fundraiser for the Multiple Myeloma Foundation, and raised $700 on the night.
Portsmouth Christian 3, Belmont 1
The Eagles (3-7) picked up their third win of the year in D3 by scores of 25-18, 25-19, 17-25 and 25-16.
Becca Jones had six kills and two blocks for PCA and Lindsey Hatfield added eight kills and three aces. Joey Skubisz had five kills while Josie Hewitt and Maddy Kniphfer combined for 11 aces.
Bella Ouellette had 10 assists while Hannah Abraham had 31 digs and Josey Skubisz had two blocks.
