Around the Granite State: Mondanock football cruises to win over Campbell (video)

LITCHFIELD - Jack Lorenz ran for over three hundred yards and scored five touchdowns Saturday to help lead the Monadnock Regional High School football team to a 52-8 win over Campbell.

Lorenz carried 30 times for 361 yards and had four of his touchdowns in the second half, as the Huskies (5-1) pulled away from the Cougars (5-1) in the second half.

Ethan Brown added 92 yards and a touchdown on 19 carries while Kaden Smith also ran for a touchdown and was 4 of 6 passing for 34 yards with another score and an interception. Benjamin Dean caught the touchdown from 6 yards out.

Campbell got its lone score from Scott Hershberger, who ran for 28 yards on 16 carries, completed all four of his passes for 44 yards and had an 18-yard reception. Jackson Kanaley added 16 yards on the ground and was 5 of 14 passing for 47 yards while Jack Kidwell caught five passes for 65 yards.

John Stark 61, Hillsboro-Deering/Hopkinton 33

Drew Tower ran for six touchdowns and the Generals amassed almost five hundred yards of offense to get their second win in a row.

Tower also had 200 yards on the ground and Byron Parrish added 115 yards and a touchdown rushing while Donnie White and Deltyn Williams also had a touchdown each.

Noah Carter was 11 of 23 for 225 yards for HDH, while Manny Velazquez ran for three touchdowns and Mason Nichols scored twice. The Redhawks led 27-26 at halftime.

Newport 36, Bishop Brady 13

Tyler Gobin ran for 212 yards and touchdowns and the Tigers grabbed a road win over the Giants.

Newport finished with 453 yards on the ground with Kyle Ashley added 140 yards and two touchdowns.

Josh Gentchos led Bishop Brady with 173 yards and two touchdowns on the ground.

Field Hockey

Bishop Guertin 1, Nashua South 0

Kaitlyn Tello made 20 saves for the Panthers but the Cardinals were able to come out on top.

Ava Foss, Maddie Berthiaume, Brady Murray, Emily Richard, Wylie Hart and Lizzie DeRusha played well for South.

Exeter 3, Concord 1

Addison MacNeil scored two goals to help the Blue Hawks to a win over the Crimson Tide. Dani Caron had the other goal for Exeter.

Girls Volleyball

Hollis Brookline 3, Winnacunnet 0 (Friday)

The Cavaliers went on the road to sweep the Warriors. Game scorers were 25-11, 25-11 and 25-18.

Anneli DiVirgilio led HB (11-2) with nine aces and Kate Berrigan had five kills and five aces. Cheyenne Colbert recorded five kills while Sophie Jordan had 17 assists and Maggie Noble had eight digs.

Portsmouth Christian 3, Sunapee 2

The Eagles survived a comeback by the Lakers to get the win. Scorers were 25-21, 25-19, 21-25, 22-25 and 15-11.

Liahna Messier led the way with 10 kills, three aces and 13 digs while Alex Griffin had 10 kills. Emma Eisner recorded 15 assists and three aces while Madelyn Hardy had five kills and two aces and Emily Exeters registered 11 digs.
