Around the Granite State: Hollis Brookline boys lacrosse opens season with win over Goffstown (video)

Jacob Roy had four goals and an assist Tuesday to lead the Hollis Brookline High School boys lacrosse team to a 12-5 win over Goffstown in the Division II opener for both teams.

Tommy Anderson and Ethan Bender added two goals and two assists each and Connor Cook and Kyle Sanborn also each scored twice, as the Cavaliers led 6-1 at halftime. Noah Taylor also had an assist for HB while Tucker Luter made six saves and Justin Colby helped the Cavs win 15 of 18 faceoffs.

Goffstown got four goals from Sam Chapman while Reid Daniels also scored and Sean Cote made 24 saves.

Windham 14, Bow 1

Nate Crowley had four goals and two assists to help lead the Jaguars to a season-opening win over the Falcons.

Blake Bazin had three goals and an assist and Alex Ryan also had three goals while Drew Denton had a goal and six helpers. Ryan Parke also scored twice and Evan Conley added a goal and two assist.

Ryan Dann had two assists and Matt O'Connor added one while Jackson Milano made three saves.

Coe-Brown 18, Spaulding 3

The Bears opened up the year with a big win over the Red Raiders behind four goals from Aaron Bono.

Connor Joy added a goal and five assists while Landon Rafael had three goals and an assist and David Lee had two goals and two helpers. Dylan Swasey had two goals and an assist and Jack Whitcher also scored.

James Sawyer also had two assists while Aidan Lindsey and Matt Labrecque played well defensively.

No. 4 Portsmouth 17, Merrimack Valley 1

Mike O'Neil (assist) and Zac Amend (two assists) each scored three goals to help lead the Clippers to a win over the Pride.

Dom Maldari added two goals and four assists and Keigen Delisle chipped in two goals and two helpers. Dylan Roelofs had a goal and an assist while Baden Paterson, Noah Foster, Briggs Catino, Nick Smith and Torin Brewer each added a goal.

Smith was also 10 of 13 on faceoffs while Nathan Amend and Skyler Mikolaities each saw time in goal. Gunner Jackson and Peter Wool played well defensively for Portsmouth.

Laconia 15, Milford 5

Cole Roy had six goals to lead the Sachems to the road win over the Spartans.

Tim Ausevich and Evan Rollins added three goals apiece while Lucas Beane had five assists. JP Harriman scored two goals and had two helpers and Eli Nadeau also scored. Cam Harriman played well in goal for Laconia.

Milford got three goals and an assist from Harris Jones while Andrew Herner and Matt Doobie also scored. Braden Atwood had two assists and and Charles Urda had an assist.

James Brew made 16 saves for the Spartans.

Dover 10, Nashua North 4

The Green Wave picked up the road win over the Titans behind five goals and an assist from Micah Krick.

Tobey Desroches had a goal and six assists and Preston Kozlowski added two goals and two helpers. Dom Chalifour made 14 saves and Ryan Gionet was 14 of 18 on faceoffs.

No. 1 Bishop Guertin 19, No. 7 Londonderry 5 (Monday)

Quinn Cepiel and Brady Dumont had four goals and an assist each to lead the Cardinals to a win over the Lancers.

Connor Bouvier added two goals and an assist while Tim Kiely, Connor Guibord and JJ Murphy each had a goal and an assist. Xander Dunsmoor, Zach Kouchalakos, Carter Jozokos, Jacob Warren, Kevin Broderick and Jeremy Warren also had a goal each and Bobby Canaway had an assist.

Zach Connerty made seven saves while Will Murphy had three and Liam O'Keefe and Michael MacDonough had two apiece.

Girls Lacrosse

No. 6 Hollis Brookline 13, Goffstown 7

Alyssa Hill had four goals and three assists to lead the Cavs to a win over the Grizzlies.

Cailean Roy added three goals while Bella Haytayan and Abbie Ogren had two goals apiece. Ireland Stark had a goal and an assist and Kaitlyn Castriotta also scored while Sabrina Hill had three assists.

Hallie Bardani made 10 saves for HB while Julia Vella played well defensively and Juliette Ogren had five ground balls.

Goffstown got three goals each from Kayla Gorosie and Katryn Maley. Jocelyn Ashford also scored.

Derryfield 18, Plymouth 1

The Cougars opened the season with a road win over the Bobcats, getting four goals, an assist and three draw controls from Casey Benson.

Christine Nadeau added three goals, three caused turnovers and a draw control while Kira Geddes had three goals and two assists. Lilly Losey had two goals, two caused turnovers and an interception and Hailey Ramundo had three goals.

Lily Handwerk scored three goals, had five draw controls and one caused turnover and Mia Dudly had a draw control and three groundballs.

Lily Kfoury made six saves in her first varsity start while Kenzie Miller, Alex Benson and Megan Lautieri played well defensively.
